Policy Gradient Learning Methods for Stochastic Control with Exit Time and Applications to Share Repurchase Pricing

open access: yesApplied Mathematical Finance, 2022
We develop policy gradients methods for stochastic control with exit time in a model-free setting. We propose two types of algorithms for learning either directly the optimal policy or by learning alternately the value function (critic) and the optimal control (actor).

Analyzing the Role of Repolarization Gradients in Post-infarct Ventricular Tachycardia Dynamics Using Patient-Specific Computational Heart Models

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
Aims: Disease-induced repolarization heterogeneity in infarcted myocardium contributes to VT arrhythmogenesis but how apicobasal and transmural (AB-TM) repolarization gradients additionally affect post-infarct VT dynamics is unknown.

Analytical study on exit gradient at base aquitard of deep excavations under dynamic artesian water

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2017
Based on one - dimensional leaky model for base aquitard of deep excavations, analytical solutions for the excess pore water pressure induced by variation of artesian water head and the corresponding exit gradients in the base aquitard are derived.

First exit times of solutions of stochastic differential equations driven by multiplicative Levy noise with heavy tails [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we study first exit times from a bounded domain of a gradient dynamical system $\dot Y_t=-\nabla U(Y_t)$ perturbed by a small multiplicative L\'evy noise with heavy tails.

Exit gradients into subsurface drains

open access: yesHilgardia, 1968
The exit gradients into drain pipes of various diameters and at various depths below the ponded soil water surface and with an impermeable barrier at varying depths below the drain were investigated by programming Kirkham’s equation for flow into drains under ponded conditions.

A macroscopic crowd motion model of gradient flow type [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A simple model to handle the flow of people in emergency evacuation situations is considered: at every point x, the velocity U(x) that individuals at x would like to realize is given.

Effect of using grouted vertical barrier on seepage characteristics under small hydraulic structures

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2020
This study investigated the effect of using Grouted Vertical Barrier (GVB) on the seepage characteristics (uplift force, seepage rate, and exit hydraulic gradient) under small hydraulic structures.

ELECTRON BEAM TRANSVERSION MANAGEMENT ON EXIT OF MAGNETIC GUN BY GRADIENT MAGNETIC FIELD

open access: yesProblems of Atomic Science and Technology, 2020
The results of experimental studies and modeling calculations for controlling the transverse dimensions of an electron beam formed by a magnetron gun with a secondary emission cathode are presented. In the gun, the secondary emission process is launched by a voltage pulse with an amplitude of up to 15 kV supplied to its anode.

EFFECT OF MUTUAL INTERFERENCE PILES ON SEEPAGE PROPERTIES UNDER HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES

open access: yesMağallaẗ Al-kūfaẗ Al-handasiyyaẗ, 2018
The seepage phenomenon (uplift pressure - flow rate - exit gradient of hydraulic structures) is one of the main causes of failure or collapse of hydraulic structures, so it has been reduced using sheet piles under floor of hydraulic structures. In this
