Pre-exercise galactose and glucose ingestion on fuel utilization during exercise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012

Exogenous Cushing syndrome

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2023
A 10-year-old girl presented to our hospital with acute respiratory distress and diminished vision for the past 10 days. She was a recently diagnosed case of diffuse midline glioma who was on palliative care and had been extensively treated with oral corticosteroids by a local physician.

Binding of exogenous cyanide reveals new active-site states in [FeFe] hydrogenases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
[FeFe] hydrogenases are highly efficient metalloenyzmes for hydrogen conversion. Their active site cofactor (the H-cluster) is composed of a canonical [4Fe-4S] cluster ([4Fe-4S]H) linked to a unique organometallic di-iron subcluster ([2Fe]H).

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Visuospatial Attention Allocation as an Indicator of Cognitive Deficit in Traumatic Brain Injury: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2021
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is defined by changes in brain function resulting from external forces acting on the brain and is typically characterized by a host of physiological and functional changes such as cognitive deficits including attention ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Mexican Hat Modulation of Visual Acuity Following an Exogenous Cue

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2020
Classical models of exogenous attention suggest that attentional enhancement at the focus of attention degrades gradually with distance from the attended location. On the other hand, the Attentional Attraction Field (AAF) model (Baruch and Yeshurun, 2014)

Endogenous and exogenous time pressure: Interactions with mathematics anxiety in explaining arithmetic performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Eighty adults performed mental arithmetic under endogenous (time limit) or exogenous (presence of a clock) time pressure. Results demonstrated a significant interaction between math anxiety and endogenous pressure: error rates were significantly greater ...

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
