Exosomes, autophagy, and cancer: A complex triad
AbstractCancer remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Despite remarkable progress in prevention, diagnosis, and therapy, the incidence of certain types of cancer persists, urging the identification of clinically relevant biomarkers and the development of novel therapeutic strategies to improve clinical outcomes and overcome treatment ...

Musing on the structural organization of the exosome complex.
The exosome complex of 3'-->5' exoribonucleases functions in both the precise processing of 3' extended precursor molecules to mature stable RNAs and the complete degradation of other RNAs. Both processing and degradative activities of the exosome depend on additional cofactors, notably the putative RNA helicases Mtr4p and Ski2p.

Theranostics aspect of extracellular vesicle in cancer liquid biopsy
Recent advances in cancer treatment emphasize the pivotal role of extracellular vesicles (EVs), especially exosomes (a subpopulation of EVs, originating from endosomes). Exosomes are signaling molecules in the cellular system.

Reconstitution of S. cerevisiae RNA Exosome Complexes Using Recombinantly Expressed Proteins
3' to 5' RNA degradation is primarily catalyzed by the RNA exosome subunits Dis3 and Rrp6 in the nucleus of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. These enzymes form a complex with the nine-subunit noncatalytic core (Exo9) to carry out their functions in vivo.

A transparent, laser‐microscribed glass platform enables cancer diagnosis within 1 h—much faster than histology, which takes days, and free from the chemical or contrast risks of MRI or CT scans. The antibody‐functionalized rough glass surface captures viable cancer cells directly from suspension, allowing instant optical readout and offering a rapid ...

Herein, an RBC membrane‐derived nanoparticle (CMN‐ICG) is engineered to efficiently deliver a sonosensitizing agent, indocyanine green (ICG), for sonotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CMN‐ICG exhibits excellent cytocompatibility, significantly enhances hepatocyte uptake, and produces excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon ultrasound ...
