Matching trees for simplicial complexes and homotopy type of devoid complexes of graphs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
We generalize some homotopy calculation techniques such as splittings and matching trees that are introduced for the computations in the case of the independence complexes of graphs to arbitrary simplicial complexes, and exemplify their efficiency on some simplicial complexes, the devoid complexes of graphs, which are simplicial complexes parametrized ...

Affinity‐Based Isolation and One‐Pot Analysis of Extracellular Vesicles from Biofluids Using Phase Separated Zwitterionic Coacervates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel method for affinity‐based isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles from biofluids using phase‐separated zwitterionic coacervates functionalized with a membrane‐sensing peptide. This technology minimizes nonspecific binding, enabling high‐yield isolation and direct one‐pot biomarker profiling.

From Invaginating Site to Deep Lesion: Spatial Transcriptomics Unravels Ectopic Endometrial Penetration Features in Adenomyosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work utilizes spatial transcriptomics to map the transcriptional landscape of adenomyosis with obvious invagination structure from the invaginating site to deep lesions. By integrating with single‐cell RNA sequencing, this study elucidates the molecular features of invagination, invasion, and fibrosis, and finds the major participants and vital ...

The phospholipid flippase ATP8B1 is required for lysosomal fusion in macrophages

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 40, Issue 8, Page 914-925, December 2022., 2022
Abstract ATP8B1 is a phospholipid flippase and member of the type 4 subfamily of P‐type ATPases (P4‐ATPase) subfamily. P4‐ATPases catalyze the translocation of phospholipids across biological membranes, ensuring proper membrane asymmetry, which is crucial for membrane protein targeting and activity, vesicle biogenesis, and barrier function.

Complexes of trees and nested set complexes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
We exhibit an identity of abstract simplicial complexes between the well-studied complex of trees and the reduced minimal nested set complex of the partition lattice. We conclude that the order complex of the partition lattice can be obtained from the complex of trees by a sequence of stellar subdivisions.

Accumulation of Damaging Lipids in the Arf1‐Ablated Neurons Promotes Neurodegeneration through Releasing mtDNA and Activating Inflammatory Pathways in Microglia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Arf1 defects activate the AKT‐mTORC1‐SREBP1‐FASN pathway to increase lipid synthesis and disrupt ER‐mitochondrial‐lysosomal homeostasis in neurons. Impaired mitochondria secrete damaged mtDNA via mitochondria‐derived extracellular vesicles, which is phagocytosed by the microglia and activated inflammation signaling.

Fabrication and Functionalisation of Nanocarbon‐Based Field‐Effect Transistor Biosensors

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 23, Issue 23, December 5, 2022., 2022
Next‐generation diagnostics: Nanocarbon‐based field effect transistors (NC‐FETs) use incoming target analytes to impart a gating effect on conductance. Here, we review the operational mechanisms behind NC‐FETs, the fabrication and functionalisation of NC‐FETs with receptor biomolecules and downstream biosensing applications.

Exosomes: Membrane-associated proteins, challenges and perspectives

open access: yesBiochemistry and Biophysics Reports
Membrane proteins determine the precise function of each membrane and, therefore, the function of each cell type. These proteins play essential roles in cell physiology, participating in the maintenance of the cell metabolism, its homeostasis or ...

Pressure-dependent adhesion between solid-supported PC-lipid bilayers and vesicles under electric fields [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Fusion of lipid bilayers in membranes is important in processes from vesicle-cell interactions (as in drug delivery) to exosome-cell signaling, while transient transmembrane electric fields are known to occur spontaneously. Two contacting phosphatidylcholine (PC) lipid membranes are known to fuse into one under external electric fields, suggesting that
