The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Affinity Purification of the RNA Degradation Complex, the Exosome, from HEK-293 Cells
The RNA exosome complex plays a central role in RNA processing and regulated turnover. Present both in cytoplasm and nucleus, the exosome functions through associations with ribonucleases and various adapter proteins (reviewed in [Kilchert et al., 2016]).

Circulating, soluble forms of major histocompatability complex antigens are not exosome‐associated [PDF]
AbstractIn vitro studies have shown that soluble MHC (sMHC) released by cell lines is bound to nano‐vesicles termed exosomes. It is thought that exosomes may represent the major reservoir of sMHC class I and II molecules in biological fluids. However, most studies have been confined to in vitro assays performed with cell lines.

Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

DLDNN: Deterministic Lateral Displacement Design Automation by Neural Networks [PDF]
Size-based separation of bioparticles/cells is crucial to a variety of biomedical processing steps for applications such as exosomes and DNA isolation. Design and improvement of such microfluidic devices is a challenge to best answer the demand for producing homogeneous end-result for study and use.

Targeted metabolomics reveals novel diagnostic biomarkers for colorectal cancer
This study employed targeted metabolomic profiling to identify 302 distinct metabolites present in platelet‐rich plasma (PRP), revealing aberrant metabolic profiles amongst individuals diagnosed with colorectal cancer (CRC). Compared to carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and cancer antigen 19‐9 (CA199), our metabolite panel showed improved sensitivity ...

Strategies for deliveries of anti-cancer drugs from perspectives of a measurement theory and an adsorption theory [PDF]
In this letter, we present anti-cancer drug delivery strategies using knowledges obtained from our recent studies. We have conducted inverse analyses of "density distributions of colloidal particles near a focused surface" and "pair potentials between the surface and the colloidal particle" using data measured by optical tweezers (OT) and atomic force ...

CircCCNB1 expression is down‐regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); thus, less NF90 protein is bound to circCCNB1 and more binds to pri‐miRNAs, blocking their (pri‐miRNAs) binding to DGCR8 and inhibiting the processing and generation of miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p. Furthermore, decreased miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p promotes the expression of the target genes

Size stability and self-agglomeration of erythrocyte-derived membrane nanovesicles versus physiological extracellular vesicles [PDF]
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) and plasma membrane-derived exosome-mimetic nanovesicles demonstrate significant potential for drug delivery. Latter synthetic provides higher throughput over physiological EVs. However they face size-stability and self-agglomeration challenges in physiological solutions to be properly characterized and addressed.
