Cyclic exotropia in a child

Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2010
Cyclic strabismus is an uncommon disorder in which strabismus alternates with orthotropia in alternating 24-hour periods, although cycles of other lengths have also been described. Alternate-day exotropia is a rare form of cyclic strabismus which, to date, has been reported in few patients.

The longitudinal horopter in exotropia

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1985
Abstract. The method of repeated measures was applied to a group of 4 exotropes in order to test the hypothesis that irregularities in their day‐to‐day longitudinal horopter findings were caused by random horizontal vergence eye movements. Determining the mean of several sets of replications smoothed out the horopter.

Varying Esotropia-Exotropia

Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 1985
ABSTRACT A 20-year old female was found to have an alternating pattern of right esotropia and right exotropia following surgery for a clivus chordoma three years previously. When esotropic, abduction was markedly limited while adduction was full in the right eye. When exotropic, mild limitation of both abduction and adduction was noted.

On the fourth day, she was admitted to our hospital. Oculomotor findings on admission showed that the ocular position of the left eye on forward gaze was fixed at the ...
