The Occurrence of Monofixational Exotropia After Exotropia Surgery
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2009To study patients with monofixation and presumed intermittent exotropia with monofixation with the specific intent of determining if they should be categorized as separate diagnostic entity than intermittent exotropes with bifoveal fusion.A retrospective re-analysis of data from 2 previously published prospective randomized clinical trials on the ...

The longitudinal horopter in exotropia
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1985Abstract. The method of repeated measures was applied to a group of 4 exotropes in order to test the hypothesis that irregularities in their day‐to‐day longitudinal horopter findings were caused by random horizontal vergence eye movements. Determining the mean of several sets of replications smoothed out the horopter.

Treatment of Intermittent Exotropia
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1978To study the long-range results of surgically treated intermittent exotropia, 100 consecutive patients have been followed up for an average of 6.1 years. ABSTRACT A 20-year old female was found to have an alternating pattern of right esotropia and right exotropia following surgery for a clivus chordoma three years previously. When esotropic, abduction was markedly limited while adduction was full in the right eye. When exotropic, mild limitation of both abduction and adduction was noted.

Surgery of Large Angle Exotropia
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 1980In summary, 22 patients have been presented who have undergone lateral rectus recessions ranging from 8 to 14 millimeters. The overall cosmetic success rate (plus or minus 15 diopters of orthophoria) was 77%. Eight of these patients had unilateral recession-resection procedures.

The many enigmas of intermittent exotropia
British Journal of Ophthalmology, 2012The Squint Club, a group of ophthalmologists with strabismus expertise, meets once a year to discuss difficult and unique clinical cases, new ideas about treatment and unique notions of pathophysiology regarding various disorders of ocular motor alignment. It was therefore surprising and noteworthy when several years ago at this meeting the late Arthur
