We must realize that no matter how ideal the surgery, approximately 40% to 45% of the cases will be immediately undercorrected or will recur in time and require further treatment.

Oculomotor Biofeedback Therapy for Exotropia
Optometry and Vision Science, 1982Twelve exotropes of various types received oculomotor biofeedback therapy at State College of New York (SUNY) University Optometric Center. Feedback of a variable pitch tone which reflected changes in ocular vergence reinforced motor control of eye posture. Patients were trained to achieve and sustain alignment in a variety of viewing situations.
