Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.

Application of Light Expanded Clay Aggregate as Replacement of Coarse Aggregate in Concrete Pavement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering & Technology, 2018
The main aim of this project is to develop a light weight concrete (LWC) by replacing the coarse aggregate with light weight expanded clay aggregate. The damage caused in LWC is less significant than conventional concrete and therefore the maintenance cost is also reduced.

Electrohydraulic Folding Ring Actuators for Radially Contracting Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents an Electrohydraulic Folding Ring Actuator that combines high‐performance electrohydraulic actuation with origami‐inspired folding geometry to achieve constricting radial actuation. This integration yields significant inner lumen constriction, alongside a gripping force capable of holding objects exceeding four times the actuator's ...

Bearing Capacity of Footing on Soft Clay Strengthened by Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate Raft

open access: yesCONSTRUCTION, 2023
This research represents an investigation into the effectiveness of replacement methods to increase the bearing capacity of soft clays under footing load, where Light Expanded Clay aggregates (LECA) were used as a substitute for common aggregate fillers.

Oxygen‐Driven Structural Reorganization by Trace Water Enabling Fast Li‐Ion Transport in a Pliable Solid Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Trace water is acting as a constructive mediator in 2LiCl–GaF3, markedly increasing ionic conductivity while reorganizing local coordination. Hydration creates localized Li+ solvation environments and partially dissociates ion pairs, enhancing Li‐ion mobility.

The Effect of Expanded Glass and Expanded Clay Aggregate Additives on Water Vapor Diffusion Based on Wet Cup Method in Cementitious Lightweight Mortars for Sustainable Buildings

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi
Water vapor permeability is the ability of a material to allow vapor (such as water vapor or any gas) to pass through it. Water vapor permeability also indicates the breathability of the material.

Silicon‐Based Anodes for Sulfide Solid‐State Batteries: Failure Mechanisms and Multiscale Design Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon anodes in sulfide SSBs face coupled electrochemo‐mechanical failure by interface instability. This review examined recent advances and proposed mitigation strategies via material‐, electrode/interface‐, and cell‐level‐ engineering. We further evaluate scalable synthesis of sulfide SEs.

The Power of Unity: Collective Action and Smallholder Agricultural Performance in West Africa

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We analyze the impact of collective action through farmer‐based organizations (FBOs) on smallholders' farm performance and income inequality in Ghana, Benin, The Gambia, and Mali. We find that FBO membership increases cereal yield in Ghana and The Gambia, legume yield in Mali, ruminant numbers in Benin and The Gambia, and total farm income in ...

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE USING LIGHTWEIGHT EXPANDED CLAY AGGREGATE (LECA) AND EXPANDED PERLITE AGGREGATE (EPA)

open access: yes, 2020
AbstractIn pursuit of reducing the dead-weight of precast concrete structures, one approach is by adopting lightweight concrete. EN 13369:2013 specifies a minimum cube compressive strength of at least 18 MPa for the lightweight concrete to be eligible for use in reinforced precast concrete products.
