Characterization of perlite and expanded perlite from West Sumatera, Indonesia

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2021
Abstract As a volcanic country, Indonesia is rich in natural mineral resources. One of them is perlite that is spread across several provinces in Indonesia. One of the companies with a mining business permit (IUP) for perlite is CV Abdi Bersaudara, located at Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra Province.

Analisis pasar expanded perlite Indonesia

open access: yesJurnal Teknologi Mineral dan Batubara, 2022
The availability of perlite is always associated with volcanic activities, so perlite has a huge potential in Indonesia. The use of perlite abroad has developed for various applications, but is still limited in Indonesia. One of the perlite development efforts in Indonesia is an analysis to seek market of the expanded perlite.

Lightweight Geopolymer Composites: The Impact of the Aggregate

open access: yesMaterials Proceedings, 2023
In this work, lightweight geopolymer composites were produced by varying the content of expanded perlite and geopolymer spheres, used as aggregates. Firstly, highly porous geopolymer spheres containing mostly red mud as the solid precursor were produced,

Confining caesium in expanded natural Perlite [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Ceramic Society, 2007
We present the potential use of expanded perlite, a metastable amorphous hydrated aluminum silicate, as a permanent medium for the long-term confinement of caesium. A simple loading by mixing an aqueous caesium nitrate solution and expanded perlite at 300K followed by thermal annealing leads to 96% sintering.

Thermal properties of phase change cement board with capric acid/expanded perlite form-stable phase change material

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
Capric acid/expanded perlite form-stable phase change materials were prepared by vacuum adsorption. The phase change cement boards were prepared by adding capric acid/expanded perlite into cement mortar, and their thermal properties were tested.

Comparative study of moisture absorption and resistance to NaCl salt of clay-based plasters incorporating porous aggregate [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
This study deals with the effects of expanded perlite and two types of clay (bentonite and kaolin) on adsorption behaviour of lightweight clay-cement based plasters and their resistance to the destructive impact of NaCl salt solution.
