Experimental Investigation on the CO2 Two-phase Ejector with Different Nozzle Exit Positions

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2021
The ejector is one of the key components of a transcritical CO2 ejector expansion refrigeration system, and the nozzle exit position (NXP) is the main geometric parameter.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Enhancement of thermoelectric efficiency and violation of the Wiedemann-Franz law due to Fano effect

open access: yes, 2011
We consider the thermoelectric properties of a double-quantum-dot molecule coupled in parallel to metal electrodes with a magnetic flux threading the ring. By means of the Sommerfeld expansion we obtain analytical expressions for the electric and thermal

Legal acculturation and legal expansion: ratio problems

open access: yesVestnik of Kostroma State University, 2019
Such fundamental laws of development of legal systems as legal acculturation and expansion are considered n the article. Attention is paid to their objects, issues, subjects, participants, equipment, tactics, strategy, determining factors and results.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

An asymptotic expansion for a ratio of products of gamma functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2000
An asymptotic expansion of a ratio of products of gamma functions is derived. It generalizes a formula which was stated by Dingle, first proved by Paris, and recently reconsidered by ...

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Aging in ferromagnetic systems at criticality near four dimensions

open access: yes, 2002
We study the off-equilibrium response and correlation functions and the corresponding fluctuation-dissipation ratio for a purely dissipative relaxation of an O(N) symmetric vector model (Model A) below its upper critical dimension.
