B‐Mode Ultrasonographic Evaluation and Reference Dimensions of the Liver and Spleen in Healthy Lactating Saanen Goats [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary Radiology &Ultrasound, Volume 67, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to establish reference ultrasonographic parameters for the liver and spleen in 34 healthy Saanen goats. The spleen was visualized between the 12th and 8th intercostal spaces (ICS), with homogeneous parenchyma and a hyperechoic capsule and splenic vein with a mean diameter of 3.3 ± 0.9 mm.

Adiponectin reverses β‐Cell damage and impaired insulin secretion induced by obesity

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 22, Issue 6, June 2023., 2023
Incubation of β‐cells with sera or plasma from obese rats and humans hampers mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation and glucose‐stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) relative to sera and plasma from lean rats and humans. Adiponectin, found at elevated levels in lean subjects, supports β‐cell function on its own, in the absence of sera, and also reverses

Red cell distribution width values and red cell distribution width‐to‐platelet ratio in Thoroughbred foals in the first 24 hours of life

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 217-222, March/April 2023., 2023
Abstract Objectives To report red cell distribution width (RDW) values, to calculate RDW‐to‐platelet ratio (RPR), and to investigate a possible correlation of RDW and RPR index values in neonatal foals classified as healthy or at risk based on clinical information from a population of foals up to 24 hours of life.

Spirulina platensis Consumption Prevents Obesity and Improves the Deleterious Effects on Intestinal Reactivity in Rats Fed a Hypercaloric Diet

open access: yesOxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
The consumption of hypercaloric diets is related to the development of obesity, favoring the etiology of gastrointestinal disorders.
