An Experimental Test Case for Transonic Low-Pressure Turbines - Part 2: Cascade Aerodynamics at On- and Off-Design Reynolds and Mach Numbers

Volume 10B: Turbomachinery — Axial Flow Turbine Aerodynamics; Deposition, Erosion, Fouling, and Icing; Radial Turbomachinery Aerodynamics, 2022
In this two-part paper, a novel test-case for transonic low-pressure turbines (LPT) is presented. The current study is a comprehensive report on the design, commissioning and testing of a high-speed LPT cascade.

Numerical and experimental studies on the aerodynamics of a 5:1 rectangular cylinder at angles of attack

Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 2020
The aerodynamic behavior of a 5:1 rectangular cylinder at angles of attack (AoA) up to 15° is investigated based on Three-dimensional Large-Eddy Simulations (3D LES) and instantaneous pressure measurements.

Experimental studies of Maglev Aerodynamics

13th Applied Aerodynamics Conference, 1995
A high speed moving track test system was designed and built for the testing of magnetically levitated vehicle (Maglev) models in the Virginia Tech Stability Wind Tunnel and aerodynamic tests were conducted on a vehicle configuration provided by NASA, Northrop-Grumman, and the Department of Transportation. The moving track test system was configured to

Experimental Identification of Aerodynamic Forces

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1978
A semi-empirical method to assess aerodynamic forces acting on a two-dimensional bridge model is proposed. By integrating or differentiating numerically the acceleration or the displacement records of the wind tunnel model, the time series of the aerodynamic forces are found on the basis of the equation of motion of the model.

Experimental evaluation on vehicle aerodynamic noise performance

International Journal of Vehicle Performance, 2018
In this study, a passenger car was tested for its aerodynamic noise performance in terms of sound pressure level in the wind tunnel at Tongji University (Shanghai Automotive Wind Tunnel Center), where the phase microphone array was used along with sound surface microphones and artificial heads combining with the adhesive tape sealing method.
