Analysis of Timekeeping in Experimentation

2020 12th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing (CSNDSP), 2020
Real-time experimentation in multiple areas relies on time synchronization across devices. Protocols are used to sync time between nodes, but the accuracy of synchronization achieved by those different protocols is sometimes overlooked and not taken into account. This is a major issue, especially in less reliable hardware commonly used in research like

Experimental Analysis of Gastrojejunostomy

Archives of Surgery, 1959
Gastrojejunostomy has failed as a treatment for active duodenal ulcer disease because of a very high relapse rate. The reasons for its failure have been clarified by experimental studies demonstrating that gastrojejunostomy increases, rather than decreases, the gastric secretion of hydrochloric acid.

An experimental analysis of hypochondriasis

Behaviour Research and Therapy, 2007
Hypochondriasis (HC) involves preoccupation with fears of having a serious medical illness based on the misinterpretation of benign bodily perturbations. Individuals with HC also perform behaviors such as checking and reassurance-seeking presumably to reduce health-related fears. Experimental behavioral analyses of HC symptoms, however, are lacking. In

Experimental task analysis

Proceedings of International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002
Rigorous analysis and evaluation of real implemented robotic systems for intelligent tasks are rarely performed. Such systems are often extremely complicated, depending not only on 'interesting' theoretical parameters and models, but on many assumptions and constants which may be set almost arbitrarily.

Experimental program analysis

Information and Software Technology, 2010
Program analysis techniques are used by software engineers to deduce and infer characteristics of software systems. Recent research has suggested that certain program analysis techniques can be formulated as formal experiments. This article reports the results of research exploring this suggestion.

An Experimental Analysis of Aggression

Behavior Modification, 2001
Iwata, Dorsey, Slifer, Bauman, and Richman developed an assessment method to identify the operant functions of self-injurious behavior. In this study, a similar methodwas used to assess the operant functions of aggression displayed by children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.

Experimental analysis of pedophilia

Behaviour Research and Therapy, 1982
Abstract It was hypothesized that the population of pedophiles differs from that of males who prefer physically mature partners, in respect of the proportion of bisexual members in each group. Bisexuality was assessed by means of a verbal scale and by recording penile volume changes during the presentation of movie clips of nude males and females ...

Experimental program analysis

Proceedings of the 28th international conference on Software engineering, 2006
Program analysis techniques are used by software engineers to deduce and infer targeted characteristics of software systems for tasks such as testing, debugging, maintenance, and program comprehension. Recently, some program analysis techniques have been designed to leverage characteristics of traditional experimentation in order to analyze software ...

Experimental Analysis of Treewidth

2020
The goal of this chapter is to provide insights into treewidth obtained from experiments. In our experiments, we count the numbers of combinatorial objects closely related to treewidth in random graph instances. These combinatorial objects include connected sets, minimal separators, potential maximal cliques, and those with certain constraints.
