Experimental design methodologies in software science
Information Processing & Management, 1984Abstract Experiments on the programming process and on software science are aimed at understanding and improving development, testing, and maintenance. In this paper the general issues of experiment design and how they apply to designing programming experiments will be examined. Some pitfalls to avoid in designing valid experiments will be discussed.

Design of an experimental methodology for generation of partial discharges signals
2015 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) Proceedings, 2015Partial discharges measurements are an important tool for the determination of the degradation level of high voltage apparatus. If partial discharge is found in insulating systems then it is important to identify its character, i.e. internal discharge, surface discharge, corona etc.

EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN ON FIELD: TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE
INTED proceedings, 2017The most appropriate use of materials and construction techniques has characterized whole historical periods and defined specific physical and geographical human habitat. Re-thinking deeply on architectural features of the historical buildings and the most appropriate technologies, in order to interpret by design each need of transformation, is the ...

Implementing a Robust Methodology: Experimental Designs and Optimisation
2009The aim of any atomic spectroscopist, as of any analytical chemist, is to develop robust and efficient measurement procedures. Experimental design, sequential optimisation and response surface methodology are three critical tools to extract maximum information from a limited number of systematised and planned sets of experimental trials.

Strategies for biomarker research: Experimental and methodological design
Experimental Gerontology, 1988The meaning of the term biomarker is discussed, a model believed to be of some use in thinking about biomarkers of age and of aging is presented, and some suggestions about pertinent research strategy and tactics are provided.

Methodological Issues in Experimental Design and Interpretation
2009Abstract This article is organized around two topics: the first one is the methodology of experimental economics, a research program that is becoming increasingly influential in contemporary economic science. The second one is normative methodology, an issue that has been widely debated by philosophers of economics over the last two ...

Experimental Design and Methodology
2009Due to the number of different experimental market designs and treatments, different articles in the literature sometimes use the same terms to refer to different components of an experiment. As an example, the term of an “experiment” can refer to one run of an experimental market, to the set of runs conducted with the same subjects or treatment design,

Clinical Psychopharmacology—Some Problems in Methodologic and Experimental Design
American Journal of Psychotherapy, 1982While enormous strides have been made in clinical psychopharmacologic research during the past decade, fundamental improvements in methodologic and experimental designs are needed, if we are to have meaningful progress in the future. The challenges noted here are equally relevant to research in clinical psychotherapy.
