Structural Optimization and Experimental Investigation of S-Seal for Subsea Christmas Trees

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2023
The S-seal,a non-metallic seal for subsea Christmas trees,is one of the key components for safe subsea production. In this research, the structure and sealing mechanism of the S-seal are investigated and the structural parameters are optimized. The laws of ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Intergranular pressure solution in halite aggregates and quartz sands : an experimental investigation

open access: yes, 1991
This thesis reports an experimental investigation into intergranular pressure solution (IPS) as a compaction mechanism in wet (i.e. brine-saturated) halite aggregates and wet quartz sands.

Study on Fluorine Pollution in a Slag Yard

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
This paper suggests a large-scale three-dimensional numerical simulation method to investigate the fluorine pollution near a slag yard. The large-scale three-dimensional numerical simulation method included an experimental investigation, laboratory ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Reversible Rail Shear Apparatus Applied to the Study of Woven Laminate Shear Behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The multitude of in-plane shear tests existing in the literature seems to demonstrate the complexity of developing a test adapted to all experimental works.

Numerical Study of Wall Ventilation in a Transonic Wind Tunnel

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2015
Transonic wind tunnels (TWT) are sophisticated tools for the investigations of flows with Mach numbers of order one. The most characteristic feature of a facility such as this is, for sure, the openings in the walls of the test section.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Unforced unsteadiness in a Vaneless Radial Diffuser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The paper reports combined experimental and numerical investigations of unforced un- steadiness in a vaneless radial diffuser. Experimental data were obtained within the diffuser using stereoscopic time resolved Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) recording
