An Experimental Analysis of Set: The Role of Sense-Modality

The American Journal of Psychology, 1960
In an earlier study we reported the ability of a 'set' to alter the accuracy of reporting about a degraded stimulus-object. It was shown that set could be varied in degree; that its influence depends on the level of ambiguity of the degraded stimulus; and that it may affect discrimination, or interpretation, or it may simply make one response more ...

Uncertainty propagation in Experimental Modal Analysis

As all experimental procedures, Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA) is subject to a wide range of potential testing and processing errors. The modal identification methods are sensitive to these errors, yielding modal results which are uncertain up to certain error bounds.

Theoretical and Experimental Modal Analysis of a 6 PUS PKM

Proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics, 2019
In this article the modal analysis of a manipulator is presented and discussed from a theoretical and experimental perspective. The work focuses on both the simulation and the experimental stages of the modal analysis on six DOF parallel kinematics machine.

Experimental modal analysis and modal parameters extraction

2009
A case study approach in the inverse analysis of the modal extraction parameter has been implemented. The Mathematical model has been used to generate time response and random generator to generate added noise. The accuracy of modal parameters extraction techniques to error-contaminated measured data has been assessed for the simple examples.

Signal processing for experimental modal analysis

Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2001
Summary: This paper is an overview of signal processing for modal analysis. The approach taken is to summarize some of the types of data that arise in modal analysis, to classify signal processing problems, and to attempt to show the relevance of the latter to the former.

A Technique for Experimental Acoustic Modal Analysis

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1996
A technique developed to carry out experimental acoustic modal analysis using commercially available structural modal analysis software is described. This uses a finite difference calculation to determine the spatial variation in pressure. In order that the resulting function exhibits the same nodes and antinodes as the actual pressure distribution at ...

On the Use of Piezoelectric Sensors for Experimental Modal Analysis

Piezoelectric disk buzzers are commonly used on stringed musical instruments to acquire the sound in the form of a voltage signal. Aim of the present investigation is to assess the possibility of using these transducers for experimental modal analysis.
