Experimental study on avalanche dynamics by gravity current.

Experimental study of the inverse cascade in gravity wave turbulence [PDF]
We perform experiments to study the inverse cascade regime of gravity wave turbulence on the surface of a fluid. Surface waves are forced at an intermediate scale corresponding to the gravity-capillary wavelength. In response to this forcing, waves at larger scales are observed.

Testing General Relativity with the Radio Science Experiment of the BepiColombo mission to Mercury
The relativity experiment is part of the Mercury Orbiter Radio science Experiment (MORE) on-board the ESA/JAXA BepiColombo mission to Mercury. Thanks to very precise radio tracking from the Earth and accelerometer, it will be possible to perform an ...

On the Euler–Type Gravitomagnetic Orbital Effects in the Field of a Precessing Body
To the first post–Newtonian order, the gravitational action of mass–energy currents is encoded by the off–diagonal gravitomagnetic components of the spacetime metric tensor.

Orbital motions as gradiometers for post-Newtonian tidal effects
The direct long-term changes occurring in the orbital dynamics of a local gravitationally bound binary system S due to the post-Newtonian tidal acceleration caused by an external massive source are investigated. A class of systems made of a test particle

Disconnecting a traversable wormhole: Universal quench dynamics in random spin models
Understanding strongly interacting quantum matter and quantum gravity are both important open issues in theoretical physics, and the holographic duality between quantum field theory and gravity theory nicely brings these two topics together. Nevertheless,

Orbital Motions and the Conservation-Law/Preferred-Frame α3 Parameter
We analytically calculate some orbital effects induced by the Lorentz-invariance momentum-conservation parameterized post-Newtonian (PPN) parameter \(\alpha_3\) in a gravitationally bound binary system made of a primary orbited by a test particle.

Given a solar luminosity LAr = 0.75L0 at the beginning of the Archean 3.8 Ga ago, where L0 is the present-day one, if the heliocentric distance, r, of the Earth was rAr = 0.956r0, the solar irradiance would have been as large as IAr = 0.82I0.

Watching the Effects of Gravity. Vestibular Cortex and the Neural Representation of “Visual” Gravity
Gravity is a physical constraint all terrestrial species have adapted to through evolution. Indeed, gravity effects are taken into account in many forms of interaction with the environment, from the seemingly simple task of maintaining balance to the ...
