A functional motor unit in the culture dish : co-culture of spinal cord explants and muscle cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Human primary muscle cells cultured aneurally in monolayer rarely contract spontaneously because, in the absence of a nerve component, cell differentiation is limited and motor neuron stimulation is missing(1). These limitations hamper the in vitro study

AAVR Expression is Essential for AAV Vector Transduction in Sensory Hair Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Decreased sensitivity to AAV vector transduction in the outer hair cells (OHCs) of adult mice is primarily attributed to reduction of AAVR (Kiaa0319l; Au040320). Knockout of AAVR reduces AAV vector transduction efficiency in both inner hair cells (IHCs) and OHCs in neonatal mice.

Joint modelling of national cultures accounting for within and between-country heterogeneity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Cultural values vary significantly around the world. Despite a large heterogeneity, similarities across national cultures are present. This paper studies cross-country culture heterogeneity via the joint inference of country-specific copula graphical models from world-wide survey data.

Identification of dividing, determined sensory neuron precursors in the mammalian neural crest [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Sensory and autonomic neurons of the vertebrate peripheral nervous system are derived from the neural crest. Here we use the expression of lineage-specific transcription factors as a means to identify neuronal subtypes that develop in rat neural crest ...

The avian tectobulbar tract: development, explant culture, and effects of antibodies on the pattern of neurite outgrowth [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The tectobulbar tract is the first long-distance projecting fiber pathway to appear during the development of the avian optic tectum (dorsal half of the mesencephalon).

Myofibrillogenesis in Precardiac Mesoderm Explant Culture.

open access: yesCell Structure and Function, 1997
To investigate the cardiac differentiation and the initial stages of myofibrillogenesis, chick precardiac mesoderm explants were cultured and spatiotemporal expressions of various sarcomeric cytoskeletal proteins were examined by immunofluorescence microscope. The precardiac cells differentiated and formed well organized myofibrils in culture.

Inhibition of Aberrant Activated Fibroblast‐Like Synoviocytes in Rheumatoid Arthritis by Leishmania Peptide via the Regulation of Fatty Acid Synthesis Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LACK156‐173 is internalized into RA‐FLSs via CAPN2‐mediated endocytosis and inhibits the aggressive phenotype of RA‐FLSs by restoring dysregulated fatty acid synthesis metabolism mediated by overexpressed FASN. The findings suggest that targeting the restoration of fatty acid metabolism could potentially alleviate synovial invasion and joint damage in ...

NKG2D‐mediated cytotoxicity improves after primary surgery for high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Reproductive Immunology, Volume 89, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Problem Tumors compromise the patients’ immune system to promote their own survival. We have previously reported that HGSC exosomes play a central role, downregulating NKG2D cytotoxicity. Primary surgery's effect on tumor exosomes and NKG2D cytotoxicity in HGSC patients has not been studied before.

Micropropagation of three genotypes of Indian mustard [{Brassica juncea} (L.) Czern.] using seedling-derived transverse thin cell layer (tTCL) explants [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
Micropropagation of three genotypes of Indian mustard [\textit{Brassica juncea} (L.) Czern.] using 7-days old seedling-derived transverse thin cell layer (tTCL) explants was accomplished. The genotype, explant source and addition of silver nitrate to the medium significantly influenced shoot bud induction.

Shoot organogenesis in leaf explants of Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Hyd1’ and assessing genetic stability of regenerants using ISSR markers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
For the first time, an in vitro regeneration protocol of Hydrangea macrophylla 'Hyd1' was developed. Effects of different plant growth regulators (PGRs) on shoot regeneration were investigated jointly with selecting optimal basal media and cefotaxime ...
