Combinatorial expression of glial transcription factors induces Schwann cell‐specific gene expression in mouse embryonic fibroblasts

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Schwann cells provide peripheral nerve trophic support, myelinate axons, and assist in repair. However, Schwann cell repair capacity is limited by chronic injury, disease, and aging. Schwann cell reprogramming is a cellular conversion strategy that could provide a renewable cell supply to repair injured nerves.

Computational modelling of myocardial metabolism in patients with advanced heart failure

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
LV, left ventricular; LVAD, left ventricular assist device; LVEF, left ventricular ejection fraction. Abstract Aims Perturbations of myocardial metabolism and energy depletion are well‐established hallmarks of heart failure (HF), yet methods for their systematic assessment remain limited in humans.

Multiplication of Ipomoea batatas clon ‘INIVITB2-2005’ in Temporary Inmersion Systems

open access: yesBiotecnología Vegetal, 2008
Use of temporary immersion system (TIS) have been not reported for in vitro culture of Ipomoea batatas . This technique would help to increase the number of plants needed for in vitro mass propagation of clone ‘INIVITB2-2005’ with great productive ...

In vitro radiosensitivity of two types of common bean explants of 'BAT-93' cultivar

open access: yesBiotecnología Vegetal, 2017
The use of Gamma radiations combined with in vitro tissue culture is a useful tool in breeding programs. However, for its application it is necessary to have an efficient plant regeneration system. The objective of this work was to determine the in vitro
