Combinatorial expression of glial transcription factors induces Schwann cell‐specific gene expression in mouse embryonic fibroblasts

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Schwann cells provide peripheral nerve trophic support, myelinate axons, and assist in repair. However, Schwann cell repair capacity is limited by chronic injury, disease, and aging. Schwann cell reprogramming is a cellular conversion strategy that could provide a renewable cell supply to repair injured nerves.

Biophysical processes of morphogenesis in lizard lungs

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The lungs of squamate reptiles (lizards and snakes) are highly diverse, exhibiting single chambers, multiple chambers, transitional forms with two to three chambers, along with a suite of other anatomical features, including finger‐like epithelial projections into the body cavity known as diverticulae.

In vitro radiosensitivity of two types of common bean explants of 'BAT-93' cultivar

open access: yesBiotecnología Vegetal, 2017
The use of Gamma radiations combined with in vitro tissue culture is a useful tool in breeding programs. However, for its application it is necessary to have an efficient plant regeneration system. The objective of this work was to determine the in vitro

The role of Rho GTPases in facial morphogenesis

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
The role of small GTPases, RHOA, RAC1, and CDC42 and pathway mediators is reviewed in the context of embryonic facial development. Lip fusion requires cytoskeletal remodeling during morphogenesis of the facial processes and during lip fusion. Fnm, frontonasal mass; lnp, lateral nasal process; mnp, medial nasal process; mxp, maxillary process; np, nasal

In vitro propagation of ‘FHIA-25’ (Musa spp., AAB) in Temporary Immersion Systems

open access: yesBiotecnología Vegetal, 2011
Necessity to produce high quality planting material has required searching new alternatives to increase the efficiency of in vitro propagation methods and their automation, as in Temporary Immersion Systems (TIS).
