Identification of dividing, determined sensory neuron precursors in the mammalian neural crest [PDF]
Sensory and autonomic neurons of the vertebrate peripheral nervous system are derived from the neural crest. Here we use the expression of lineage-specific transcription factors as a means to identify neuronal subtypes that develop in rat neural crest ...

A tunable methacrylated decellularized bone matrix hydrogel (dECM‐MA) is developed to support 3D culture of human osteoblasts. The hydrogel preserves bone‐specific ECM cues and allows precise control over mechanical properties. This system provides a customizable platform for studying osteogenic differentiation and modeling bone tissue environments for

Persistent organic pollutant burden, experimental POP exposure and tissue properties affect metabolic profiles of blubber from grey seal pups [PDF]
Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are toxic, ubiquitous, resist breakdown, bioaccumulate in living tissue and biomagnify in food webs. POPs can also alter energy balance in humans and wildlife.

Myofibrillogenesis in Precardiac Mesoderm Explant Culture.
To investigate the cardiac differentiation and the initial stages of myofibrillogenesis, chick precardiac mesoderm explants were cultured and spatiotemporal expressions of various sarcomeric cytoskeletal proteins were examined by immunofluorescence microscope. The precardiac cells differentiated and formed well organized myofibrils in culture.

The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...

Bone formation in rabbit cancellous bone explant culture model is enhanced by mechanical load
When studying and designing an artificial bone in vitro with similar features and functionality of natural bone by tissue engineering technology, the culturing environment, especially the mechanical environment is supposed to be an important factor ...

A synthetic 4‐arm maleimide‐terminated poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG‐4MAL) hydrogel system that combines hydrolytic ester‐linked macromer (PEG‐4eMAL) with nondegradable amide‐linked macromer (PEG‐4aMAL) in various stoichiometric ratios to tune the degradability rate. The macromers are crosslinked with dithiothreitol via thiol‐maleimide click reaction. The
