Theory of small aspect ratio waves in deep water

open access: yes, 2005
In the limit of small values of the aspect ratio parameter (or wave steepness) which measures the amplitude of a surface wave in units of its wave-length, a model equation is derived from the Euler system in infinite depth (deep water) without potential ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Sparse Attention-Based Residual Joint Network for Aspect-Category-Based Sentiment Analysis

open access: yesMathematics
Aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) aims at identifying the sentiment polarity for a particular aspect in a review. ABSA studies based on deep learning models have exploited the attention mechanism to detect aspect-related parts.

"Aspecto" e "aspectualidade": coordenadas descritivas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Separata da "Revista portuguesa de humanidades. Estudos linguísticos", vol. 12, n.º 1 (2008)In this article I will first reflect on the nature and the constitution of both the category of aspect and the semantic notion of aspectuality in order to then ...

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Syntactic-Guided Chain of Thought for Iterative Implicit and Explicit Target Detection in Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Access
Prompt engineering is essential for optimizing the performance of large-language models (LLMs), particularly in tasks requiring complex interpretations such as aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA).

Engineered spin phase diagram of two interacting electrons in semiconductor nanowire quantum dots

open access: yes, 2009
Spin properties of two interacting electrons in a quantum dot (QD) embedded in a nanowire with controlled aspect ratio and longitudinal magnetic fields are investigated by using a configuration interaction (CI) method and exact diagonalization (ED ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Explicit Document Modeling through Weighted Multiple-Instance Learning

open access: yesJournal of Artificial Intelligence Research, 2017
Representing documents is a crucial component in many NLP tasks, for instance predicting aspect ratings in reviews. Previous methods for this task treat documents globally, and do not acknowledge that target categories are often assigned by their authors

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.
