Explicit formulae for Kerov polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebraic Combinatorics, 2010
If a Young diagram (or partition) \(\lambda\) is represented as a function in the plane \(\mathbb R^2\), let \(x_0,\dots ,x_m\) and \(y_1,\dots ,y_m\) denote the sequences of \(x\)-coordinates of the local maxima and minima, respectively, of \(\lambda\), and put \({\mathcal H_{\lambda}(z)=\frac{\prod_{i=0}^m(z-x_i)}{\prod_{i=1}^m(z-y_i)}}\).

Pieri’S Formula Via Explicit Rational Equivalence

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Mathematics, 1997
AbstractPieri’s formula describes the intersection product of a Schubert cycle by a special Schubert cycle on a Grassmannian. We present a new geometric proof, exhibiting an explicit chain of rational equivalences from a suitable sum of distinct Schubert cycles to the intersection of a Schubert cycle with a special Schubert cycle. The geometry of these

Explicit irregular sampling formulas

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 1992
This paper adapts and modifies several of the techniques of \textit{N. Levinson} [``Gap and density theorems'', Amer. Math. Soc. Colloq. Publ. Vol. 26, 246 p. (1940)] to derive irregular sampling formulae that are extensions of those first considered by \textit{J. L.

A smooth version of Landau’s explicit formula

open access: yesInternational Journal of Number Theory
In this paper, we present a smooth version of Landau’s explicit formula for the von Mangoldt arithmetical function. By assuming the validity of the Riemann hypothesis, we show that in order to determine whether a natural number [Formula: see text] is a prime number, it is sufficient to know the location of a number of nontrivial zeros of the Riemann ...

Explicit formulas for Grassmannian polylogarithms

open access: yes, 2019
We give new explicit formulas for Grassmannian and Aomoto polylogarithms in terms of iterated integrals, for arbitrary weight. We also explicitly reduce the Grassmannian polylogarithm in weight 4 and in weight 5 each to depth 2. Furthermore, using this reduction in weight 4 we obtain an explicit, albeit complicated, form of the so-called 4-ratio, which

An Explicit Formula for Hecke L-functions

open access: yes, 2004
In 1997 the author found an interesting sequence of numbers that are related to zeros of the Riemann zeta function. In this paper we study a similar sequence of numbers, which are related zeros of L-functions associated with modular forms of weight k > 2. In particular, an explicit formula is obtained for this sequence of numbers.

Explicit formulae for Bernoulli numbers

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
<p>By examining the connection coefficients, we systematically review and extend (with an extra integer parameter) several double sum expressions for the Bernoulli numbers. New summation formulae are also established explicitly.</p>
