Exploring Exploring a Word Processor
Human–Computer Interaction, 1985Studies of people learning to use contemporary word-processing equipment suggest that effective learning is often "active," proceeding by self-initiated problem solving. The instructional manuals that accompany current word-processing systems often penalize and impede active learning.

Reasoning with Exploration: An Entropy Perspective
AAAI Conference on Artificial IntelligenceBalancing exploration and exploitation is a central goal in reinforcement learning (RL). Despite recent advances in enhancing language model (LM) reasoning, most methods lean toward exploitation, and increasingly encounter performance plateaus.

Explanation Exploration: Exploring Emergent Behavior
21st International Workshop on Principles of Advanced and Distributed Simulation (PADS'07), 2007Understanding emergent behavior(s) exhibited in simulations poses an interesting challenge. Emergence can represent a valid behavior arising from seemingly unrelated phenomena, or it can reflect an error in a model or its implementation. We propose a new method for gathering insight into emergent behavior in simulations using the model adaptation ...

Initially let me rapidly dispense with some matters concerning human (more generally, mammalian) exploratory activity that would not be worth extensive discussion. First, it would be no feat at all to find long quotations from famous men in antiquity, such as Plato or Confucius, who bespoke the importance of exploratory activity (by the same or other ...

Gene, 1993
In Drosophila, homeotic mutations lead to the transformation of structures of one body segment into the corresponding structures of another segment. These mutations identify master regulator genes which specify segmental identity along the antero-posterior body axis.

Abstract It is a particular privilege to address not only geologists, paleontologists, and geophysicists of the petroleum industry, but also a group of specialists in mining exploration. To you who are mining geophysicists, I hope that I am correct in assuming that the philosophy of my discussion does have a considerable bearing also ...

The singularly pervasive effectiveness of lysergic acid in altering the subjective experience and objective behavior of those to whom it is given affords unique opportunity for exploring methods of psychotherapy. Two attributes of lysergic acid psychoses especially favor such study.
