The Flow Characteristics of High Explosives
Propellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, 1992AbstractA comparative study of flow properties of the explosive compound RDX is presented. The results were used to identify desirable free‐flowing characteristics in the powders. Various static and free‐flowing tests were conducted on the explosive powders.

Detonation characteristics of emulsion explosives
Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1994The detonation properties of a water-emulsion explosive are studied. The shock adiabat is determined for a density of 1.38 g/cm3. The critical diameter and the detonation velocity are found as functions of the initial density of the charge and the shock heating temperature is calculated.

Observational characteristics of explosive events
2008The characteristics of dynamic phenomena observed in the EUV with the HRTS instruments, chromospheric jets and explosive events, are reviewed here. Most of the review is devoted to explosive events that are short duration explosions involving a plasma at 105 K.

Synthesis and Explosive Performance Characteristics of Polynitropolycyclic Cage Explosives
1993The synthetic methodology which has been utilized to prepare a number of polynitropolycyclic cage explosives in our laboratory is presented, and the underlying strategy is described in each case. The results of thermodynamic studies of several polynitropolycyclic systems are presented and discussed along with preliminary results of explosive ...

Characteristics of the Explosive Percolation Transition
2014An unusual phase transition was recently discovered in a bunch of evolving network models in which each new connection between nodes is selected from several possibilities by an optimization algorithm. First studies (simulations) of these systems interpreted the emergence of a percolation cluster (giant connected component) as a discontinuous phase ...

Overview of dust explosibility characteristics
Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, 2000This paper is an overview of and introduction to the subject of dust explosions. The purpose is to provide information on the explosibility and ignitability properties of dust clouds that can be used to improve safety in industries that generate, process, use, or transport combustible dusts. The requirements for a dust explosion are: a combustible dust,

Explosion characteristics of synthesised biogas at various temperatures
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2006Biogas is considered as a valuable source of renewable energy. Indeed, it can be turned into useful energy (heat, electricity, fuel) and can contribute to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Knowledge of its safety characteristics is a very important practical issue.
