Mechanisms of Injury by Explosive Devices
Anesthesiology Clinics, 2007Explosive devices cause injury by four mechanisms, of which primary blast injury is the least familiar to most non-military clinicians. The pathophysiology of the various mechanisms of injury is described, and the implications for translating a knowledge of mechanism of injury to clinical management is discussed.

A mechanism of explosive bonding
Metallurgical Transactions, 1971An aero-hydrodynamic analogy is used to construct a description of the formation of wavy interfaces during explosive bonding. A von Karman vortex street in the wake of the reentrant jet formed at the collision point of the parent and flyer plates yields the required interface structure.

Mechanism for Vapour Explosions
Nature, 1973IT is well known that when a hot liquid comes into contact with a cold vaporizable liquid an explosion of considerable violence may occur. This type of explosion is called alternatively a vapour explosion, a thermal interaction or fuel-coolant interaction (FCI), the hot liquid being the fuel and the cold liquid the coolant.

On the Mechanism of Supernova Explosion
Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan, 1961Abstract Using the method of shock propagation developed by us, the mechanism of supernova explosion was discussed. General features of a supernova, i.e. the thrown mass and its expansion velocity etc., are largely determined by the ratio of the stellar mass and radius.

Mechanism for explosive synchronization of neural networks
Physical Review E, 2019Here we investigate the mechanism for explosive synchronization (ES) of a complex neural network composed of nonidentical neurons and coupled by Newman-Watts small-world matrices. We find a range of nonlocal connection probabilities for which the network displays an abrupt transition to phase synchronization, characterizing ES. The mechanism behind the

Mechanisms of supernova explosion
Surveys in High Energy Physics, 1998Abstract The modern status of supernova mechanisms is reviewed with special emphasis on physical processes involved. An extensive study of supernovae (both observational and theoretical) during the last decade, prompted by the outburst of close Supernova 1987A in the Large Magellanic Cloud, led to general consensus that Type Ia supernovae are the ...

About mechanism of wideband microwave radiation at explosion of condensed high explosives
Ultra- Wideband Short-Pulse Electromagnetics 4 (IEEE Cat. No.98EX112), 2002The essence of the offered mechanism consists of the following: during expansion of products of detonation a highly non-equilibrium medium is generated, the oscillatory temperature of which can essentially exceed the rotational one. Such a medium is basically active from the point of view of generation and amplification of microwave radiation.

Mechanisms for Supernova Explosions
1977Considerable progress has been made in the study of the late stages of stellar evolution, gravitational collapse, and neutrino physics. However, the mechanisms by which stars undergo supernova explosions is still not understood. This report discusses some of the recent developments in the study of one supernova mechanisms, the neutrino transport ...
