Overdriven Detonation of Pressurized Explosive

Emerging Technology in Fluids, Structures, and Fluid Structure Interactions: Volume 2, Dynamics of Explosive Detonation, Materials and Structures, Structural Mechanics and Design, 2004
Explosives are capable of generating high energy and ultra-high pressure. Their performance depends on their chemical property. The detonation wave, released on the detonation of the explosive, propagates with stable value of pressure, called Chapman-Jouguet (C-J) pressure, behind it.

Explosive-Induced Pressures in Iron

Journal of Applied Physics, 1963
The metallographic technique of C. S. Smith for determining peak pressures induced in iron by explosives is extended to include loading by oblique detonation waves. Wave interaction in an iron plate is analyzed to determine peak pressure as a function of detonation velocity and location of the hardness discontinuity in the plate.

Study on the quantitative law of wall pressure caused by mini-charge underwater explosion bubble

, 2020
The wall pressure caused by underwater explosion is always a key problem in the anti-explosion design of naval ships. Notably, the accurate wall pressure caused by underwater explosion bubble is one of the most difficult parts due to the significant ...

Gaseous explosions. VI. Flame and pressure propagation

Proceedings of the Symposium on Combustion, 1928
This investigation was undertaken in order to obtain experimental data concerning the relation between flame propagation and the pressure changes resulting therefrom. The apparatus used and its method of operation are described in detail and the experimental data are interpreted and discussed.

Effect of elevated pressure on the explosion and flammability limits of methane-air mixtures

Energy, 2019
Air injection into oil reservoirs for improved oil recovery is a proven technique in oilfields, while the safety of the process has been concerned over the possible explosion of natural gas at high pressure conditions.

Measurement of the pressure pulse from a detonating explosive

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2005
A series of experiments has been carried out to determine the pressure pulse exiting from a polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) plate, of varying thickness, subject to the shock pulse exerted by a detonating charge of fixed mass. This calibration will define a new donor explosive and inert gap material for use in one of the qualification tests for energetic ...

Pressure field investigation into oil&gas wellbore during perforating shaped charge explosion

Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2019
The impact pressure field in oil&gas wellbore during perforating shaped charge (PSC) explosion has strong impact on the perforation tubing string vibration as well as perforation operation safety.

Far-field pressure prediction of a vented gas explosion from storage tanks by using new CFD simulation guidance

Chemical engineering research & design, 2018
An extension of previous work to predict the far-field overpressures of vented gas explosions from small-medium scale storage tanks is presented. Four actual vented explosion experiments with different methane-air mixture concentrations were conducted ...

Superheat limit and micro-explosion in droplets of hydrous ethanol-diesel emulsions at atmospheric pressure and diesel-like conditions

Energy, 2018
Micro-explosion of emulsified fuels has been studied on promoting the secondary break-up and improving fuel-air mixing. However, most studies are limited to atmospheric conditions, and experimental observation of micro-explosion under diesel-like ...
