Adhesion Forces Measurement of Explosives and Nanodiamonds

Propellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, 2022
AbstractThe goal of the present study is to give novel experimental insight into the interaction forces existing between materials of different nature (i. e. explosives, nanodiamonds). Evaluation of interaction – or adhesion – forces is of great importance in the field of composite elaboration and chemical detection, their intensity being an expression

Front explosions in three-dimensional resonantly-forced oscillatory systems

Physical Review E, 2003
Interface dynamics in a three-dimensional coupled map lattice with a period-3 local map is studied. The system possesses a parameter regime where one typically finds three-phase patterns consisting of spatially uniform domains which follow the period-3 cycle and oscillate among the three different phases.

Co-contraction training, muscle explosive force and associated electromyography activity

The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness, 2017
The effects of a six-week Maximal isometric voluntary co-contraction (MIVCC) training program of the elbow flexor and extensor muscles on maximal and explosive muscle strength have been studied.Ten active men underwent 6-week MIVCC. Maximal rate of force development (MRFD) of the elbow flexor (MRFDflex) and extensor (MRFDext) were measured in addition ...

Driving forces behind China's explosive telecommunications growth

IEEE Communications Magazine, 1993
The driving forces behind rapid growth of telecommunications in China and the potential developments in the telecommunications industry in that country are described. The driving forces include investment and tariff charges, growth-enabling technologies, and employee incentives established at the local and national level. >

Explosively generated air presuure waves for structural forcing

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1970
The aerial blast wave generated by a small explosion may be used to produce impulsive forcing of structures with natural periods longer than approximately 1 msec; the free response of such structures may then be determined. A technique has been developed using spatial distributions of explosive whereby it is possible to generate waves of much longer ...

Drag force simulation in explosive volcanic flows

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
This paper focuses on the interphase drag force simulation of volcanic flows by means of mixture formulation with velocity nonequilibrium. Numerical simulations are performed on a volcanic gas-ash mixture collision and the influence of the drag force is verified on a number of cases.

Human capacity for explosive force production: Neural and contractile determinants

Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2013
This study assessed the integrative neural and contractile determinants of human knee extension explosive force production. Forty untrained participants performed voluntary and involuntary (supramaximally evoked twitches and octets – eight pulses at 300 Hz that elicit the maximum possible rate of force development) explosive isometric contractions of ...
