Considering the Influence of Chemical Reactions between Detonation Products on Specific Heat Ratio Calculating of the TNT Explosive with Small Explosive Charge Volume Ratio

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
The formula and calculating method of specific heat ratio in confined explosion with small explosive charge volume ratios under considering chemical reactions of the detonation products was researched. Taking the TNT explosive as an example, a numerical calculating program was written, and the specific heat ratio of the confined explosion either ...

Peridynamic modeling of dynamic damage of polymer bonded explosive

, 2020
Dynamic damage response of 1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocane (HMX) based polymer bonded explosive (PBX) is investigated by using recently developed three dimensional Peridynamic (PD) method, allowing natural evolution of defects such as cracks or ...

Effect of Al/O Ratio on the Detonation Performance and Underwater Explosion of HMX‐based Aluminized Explosives

Propellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, 2013
AbstractThe performance of detonation and underwater explosion (UNDEX) of a six‐formula HMX‐based aluminized explosive was examined by detonation and UNDEX experiments. The detonation pressures, detonation velocities, and detonation heat of HMX‐based aluminized explosive were measured.

Analysis of Electro Explosive Performance of Al/MoO3 Bridge Wire Initiating Explosive Devices with Different Modulation Ratio

2021 IEEE International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering and Computer Applications (AEECA), 2021
In order to improve the shortcomings such as low ignition output energy of bridge wire pyrotechnics, poor anti-electromagnetic interference ability, and incompatibility with microelectronics manufacturing process, magnetron sputtering technology is used to integrate Nano Al/MoO 3 film into bridge wire igniter.

Identification of Earthquakes and Explosions Using Amplitude Ratios: The Vogtland Area Revisited

Pure and Applied Geophysics, 2002
Identification of seismic events is a major scientific issue in the framework of verification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). Of special interest in this context is the identification of the numerous low-yield mining or blasting events, especially those occurring in the same area as earthquakes, such as the Vogtland area in the ...

Numerical investigation of the underwater explosion of a cylindrical explosive with the Eulerian finite-element method

The Physics of Fluids
The shock wave and bubble dynamics of an underwater explosion are significant in various fields. When the charge is non-spherical, the detonation process will remarkably affect the shock wave formation and the subsequent bubble motion.

On the Calculation of Steam Explosion Conversion Ratios from Experimental Data

Nuclear Science and Engineering, 1990
Conversion ratios reported for the Sandia National Laboratories intermediate-scale (FITS-B series) steam explosion experiments have been examined and recalculated. It is shown that these conversion ratios corresponding to the work done to compress the chamber air, {eta}{sub D} range from 0.05 to 1.04% compared with reported values of 0.2 to 8.6%.

Performances of the RC column under close-in explosion induced by the double-end-initiation explosive cylinder

International Journal of Impact Engineering, 2019
The axial load-carrying column is commonly considered as the most critical component in RC structure. To determine the failure characteristics of the RC column under the combined action of axial load and close-in explosion initiated at two ends of an ...
