Generalized Nikolskii's property and asymptotic exponent in Markov's inequality [PDF]
We introduce an asymptotic Markov's exponent and show that it is equal to Markov's exponent for a wide class of norms. As a consequence we obtain a lower bound for the optimal exponent in Markov's inequality considered with the norms possessing Nikolskii type property.

Methods for working with problem residents in medical physics residency education
Abstract Medical physics residency training programs may occasionally encounter residents requiring additional intervention beyond normal training efforts. In the literature, these residents are referred to as “problem” residents. While the physician literature on the subject is valuable, this paper specifically focuses on dealing with a problem ...

Girsanov's transformation for SLE(kappa, rho) processes, intersection exponents and hiding exponents [PDF]
We relate the formulas giving Brownian (and other) intersection exponents to the absolute continuity relations between Bessel process of different dimensions, via the two-parameter family of Schramm-Loewner Evolution processes SLE(kappa, rho) introduced in arXiv:math.PR/0209343.

Critical exponents in zero dimensions [PDF]
In the vicinity of the onset of an instability, we investigate the effect of colored multiplicative noise on the scaling of the moments of the unstable mode amplitude. We introduce a family of zero dimensional models for which we can calculate the exact value of the critical exponents $\beta_m$ for all the moments.

Abstract Introduction Many artificial intelligence (AI) solutions have been proposed to enhance the radiotherapy (RT) workflow, but limited applications have been implemented to date, suggesting an implementation gap. One contributing factor to this gap is a misalignment between AI systems and their users.

Abstract Introduction The use of radioactive materials in the United States has been tightly regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other entities for many decades. In 2015, however, the Joint Commission began to require hospital‐based nuclear medicine departments to conduct shielding designs and evaluations for radioactive material areas ...

The study of entrywise powers of matrices was originated by Loewner in the pursuit of the Bieberbach conjecture. Since the work of FitzGerald and Horn (1977), it is known that $A^{\circ } := (a_{ij}^ )$ is positive semidefinite for every entrywise nonnegative $n \times n$ positive semidefinite matrix $A = (a_{ij})$ if and only if $ $ is a positive ...

On maximal repetitions of arbitrary exponent [PDF]
The first two authors have shown [KK99,KK00] that the sum the exponent (and thus the number) of maximal repetitions of exponent at least 2 (also called runs) is linear in the length of the word. The exponent 2 in the definition of a run may seem arbitrary. In this paper, we consider maximal repetitions of exponent strictly greater than 1.

ABSTRACT Objective Music interventions have been shown to have beneficial effects on hemodynamic parameters, pain, and anxiety in various medical settings. However, music interventions in the setting of acute stroke have not been studied. The objective of this trial was to perform a pilot feasibility study of music interventions in the setting of acute
