Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Fake Exponential Brownian Motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We construct a fake exponential Brownian motion, a continuous martingale different from classical exponential Brownian motion but with the same marginal distributions, thus extending results of Albin and Oleszkiewicz for fake Brownian motions.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

An application of modified systematic sampling in auto-correlated populations

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science
This study explores the efficiency of modified systematic sampling (MSS) in the context of auto-correlated populations. The MSS scheme is compared to linear systematic sampling (LSS), circular systematic sampling (CSS) and mixed random systematic ...

Application adaptive exponential synchronization of chaotic dynamical systems in secure communications

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2017
Synchronization of chaotic systems which is defined based on the exponential stability for encrypts of signals is presented in this paper. An adaptive control scheme is proposed, and the convergence of the synchronized error is guaranteed.

q-exponential, Weibull, and q-Weibull distributions: an empirical analysis

open access: yes, 2003
In a comparative study, the q-exponential and Weibull distributions are employed to investigate frequency distributions of basketball baskets, cyclone victims, brand-name drugs by retail sales, and highway length.

Exponential algebraicity in exponential fields [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 2010
I give an algebraic proof that the exponential algebraic closure operator in an exponential field is always a pregeometry, and show that its dimension function satisfies a weak Schanuel property. A corollary is that there are at most countably many essential counterexamples to Schanuel's conjecture.

Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

EB lifetime distributions as alternative to the EP lifetime distributions

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2014
In this paper we consider lifetime distributions called EB-Max distribution and EB-Min. In the conditions of the Poisson’s Limit Theorem it is shown that EB-Max distribution may be approximated by its analogous called EP-Max lifetime distribution and EB ...

A Note on Schanuel's Conjectures for Exponential Logarithmic Power Series Fields

open access: yes, 2012
In [1], J. Ax proved a transcendency theorem for certain differential fields of characteristic zero: the differential counterpart of the still open Schanuel's conjecture about the exponential function over the field of complex numbers [11, page 30].
