Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Evaluation of static responses for layered composite arches

open access: yesCurved and Layered Structures, 2023
Layered composite materials are widely used across a variety of sectors, including the automotive industry, aerospace engineering, offshore, and various mechanical domains, because of their strong yet lightweight structures.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Stretched Exponential Relaxation Arising from a Continuous Sum of Exponential Decays

open access: yes, 2006
Stretched exponential relaxation of a quantity n versus time t according to n = n_0 exp[-(lambda* t)^beta] is ubiquitous in many research fields, where lambda* is a characteristic relaxation rate and the stretching exponent beta is in the range 0 < beta <

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Tumor Growth Models Integrating Treatment Therapy

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications
This study presents a comparative analysis of tumor growth models based on logistic, exponential, and Gompertz formulations. Their response to therapeutic intervention is examined to identify which model shows better behavior with minimal decline of ...

Investor demand in syndicated EFSF/ESM bond issuances [version 1; peer review: 1 approved, 2 approved with reservations]

open access: yesOpen Research Europe, 2023
European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) and European Stability Mechanism (ESM) were set up at the peak of the European sovereign debt crisis to issue bonds and lend to countries under current funding stress.

Inhomogeneous exponential jump model

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce and study the inhomogeneous exponential jump model - an integrable stochastic interacting particle system on the continuous half line evolving in continuous time.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

A New Exponential Gravity

open access: yes, 2012
We propose a new exponential f(R) gravity model with f(R)=(R-\lambda c)e^{\lambda(c/R)^n} and n>3, \lambda\geq 1, c>0 to explain late-time acceleration of the universe. At the high curvature region, the model behaves like the \LambdaCDM model.
