Yeast Gcn2 retains activity following humanization of its auto‐phosphorylation region
FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model to study Gcn2 activation and regulation is limited by the lack of antibodies detecting phosphorylated Gcn2. To overcome this, we engineered Gcn2‐HsC, a yeast Gcn2 variant recognizable by commercial anti‐human phospho‐GCN2 antibodies.

Exponential lower bound via exponential sums
CoRRValiant's famous VP vs. VNP conjecture states that the symbolic permanent polynomial does not have polynomial-size algebraic circuits. However, the best upper bound on the size of the circuits computing the permanent is exponential. Informally, VNP is an exponential sum of VP-circuits.

Exponential algebraicity in exponential fields [PDF]
Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 2010 I give an algebraic proof that the exponential algebraic closure operator in an exponential field is always a pregeometry, and show that its dimension function satisfies a weak Schanuel property. A corollary is that there are at most countably many essential counterexamples to Schanuel's conjecture.

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model
FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.
