Properties of the four families of recently introduced special functions of two real variables, denoted here by $E^\pm$, and $\cos^\pm$, are studied. The superscripts $^+$ and $^-$ refer to the symmetric and antisymmetric functions respectively.

Improved q-exponential and q-trigonometric functions
We propose a new definition of the q-exponential function. Our q-exponential function maps the imaginary axis into the unit circle and the resulting q-trigonometric functions are bounded and satisfy the Pythagorean identity.

Omnibus goodness‐of‐fit tests for univariate continuous distributions based on trigonometric moments
ABSTRACT We propose a new omnibus goodness‐of‐fit test based on trigonometric moments of probability‐integral‐transformed data. The test builds on the framework of the LK test introduced by Langholz and Kronmal [J. Amer. Statist. Assoc. 86 (1991), 1077–1084], but fully exploits the covariance structure of the associated trigonometric statistics.
