On the exponential decay of magnetic stark resonances [PDF]
We study the time decay of magnetic Stark resonant states. As our main result we prove that for sufficiently large time these states decay exponentially with the rate given by the imaginary parts of eigenvalues of certain non-selfadjoint operator. The proof is based on the method of complex translations.

Is radioactive decay really exponential? [PDF]
Radioactive decay of an unstable isotope is widely believed to be exponential. This view is supported by experiments on rapidly decaying isotopes but is more difficult to verify for slowly decaying isotopes. The decay of 14C can be calibrated over a period of 12,550 years by comparing radiocarbon dates with dates obtained from dendrochronology.

Self-restricting Noise and Exponential Relative Entropy Decay Under Unital Quantum Markov Semigroups [PDF]
States of open quantum systems often decay continuously under environmental interactions. Quantum Markov semigroups model such processes in dissipative environments.

Energy Decay Estimates of a Timoshenko System with Two Nonlinear Variable Exponent Damping Terms
This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of the solution of a Timoshenko system with two nonlinear variable exponent damping terms. We prove that the system is stable under some specific conditions on the variable exponent and the equal wave ...

Method for analyzing exponential decays [PDF]
Abstract The non-linear least-squares routine KPS1 is presented for the analysis of data from counting experiments which follow single exponential decays. It gives appropriate weighting to individual points, is compact (52 statements) and converges more rapidly than the widely used CURFIT program of Bevington.
