A Note on Schanuel's Conjectures for Exponential Logarithmic Power Series Fields

open access: yes, 2012
In [1], J. Ax proved a transcendency theorem for certain differential fields of characteristic zero: the differential counterpart of the still open Schanuel's conjecture about the exponential function over the field of complex numbers [11, page 30].

Targeted protein degradation in oncology: novel therapeutic opportunity for solid tumours?

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Current anticancer therapies are limited by the occurrence of resistance and undruggability of most proteins. Targeted protein degraders are novel, promising agents that trigger the selective degradation of previously undruggable proteins through the recruitment of the ubiquitin–proteasome machinery. Their mechanism of action raises exciting challenges,

Evaluación del desarrollo de competencias a partir de la modelación matemática

open access: yesIngenierías USBMed, 2019
In the present study, an educational intervention was carriedout in eleven graders belonging to the St. Vincent de Paul educationalinstitution in the city of Medellín, in order to build the concept ofexponential function in a meaningful way under the ...

Exponential Relationship Between Maximal Apnea Duration and Exercise Intensity in Non-apnea Trained Individuals

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2022
It is well known that the duration of apnea is longer in static than in dynamic conditions, but the impact of exercise intensity on the apnea duration needs to be investigated.

Landscape of BRAF transcript variants in human cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigate the annotation of BRAF variants, focusing on protein‐coding BRAF‐220 (formerly BRAF‐reference) and BRAF‐204 (BRAF‐X1). The IsoWorm pipeline allows us to quantify these variants in human cancer, starting from RNA‐sequencing data. BRAF‐204 is more abundant than BRAF‐220 and impacts patient survival.

Bounds of triple exponential sums with mixed exponential and linear terms

open access: yes, 2018
We establish bounds of triple exponential sums with mixed exponential and linear function. The method we use is by Shparlinski together with a bound of additive energy from Roche-Newton, Rudnev and Shkredov.Comment: Corrected a ...

Combined logarithmic and exponential function model for fitting postseismic GNSS time series after 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2016
The time series of a postseismic deformation is commonly fitted by a logarithmic or exponential decay function. However, the high-quality postseismic Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) time series of the 2011 Mw 9 Tohoku-Oki earthquake indicates ...

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Earthing effects on mitochondrial function: ATP production and ROS generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In contrast to sham and naive controls, grounded mitochondria not only exhibit significantly enhanced energy production but also demonstrate a remarkable reduction in membrane potential and oxidative stress. This suggests a profound improvement in mitochondrial health, presenting a promising avenue for therapeutic interventions.

Three-Dimensional Dead-Reckoning Based on Lie Theory for Overcoming Approximation Errors

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper proposes a dead-reckoning (DR) method for vehicles using Lie theory. This approach treats the pose (position and attitude) and velocity of the vehicle as elements of the Lie group SE2(3) and follows the computations based on Lie theory ...
