Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Certain integrals involving logarithmic and exponential functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1994
In this paper we have evaluated the integrals∫0∞xn−1lnxexp(−ax−bx−1)dxand∫0∞xn−2(ax2−b)(lnx)2exp(−ax−bx−1)dxfor all n=1,2,3,…. Some applications of the results are discussed and an open problem is posed.

Some trace inequalities for exponential and logarithmic functions [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of Mathematical Sciences, 2019
Consider a function F(X,Y ) of pairs of positive matrices with values in the positive matrices such that whenever X and Y commute F(X,Y ) = XpYq. Our first main result gives conditions on F such that Tr[X log(F(Z,Y ))] ≤Tr[X(p log X + q log Y )] for all ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

The Exponential Transform

open access: yes, 2017
The basic definitions of the exponential transform EΩ(z, w) of a planar domain Ω⊂ ℂ and various functions derived from it are recorded in this chapter. The exponential moments having the exponential transform as the generating function are introduced. In

Determining the domain of attraction of hybrid non–linear systems using maximal Lyapunov functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
summary:In this article a method is presented to find systematically the domain of attraction (DOA) of hybrid non-linear systems. It has already been shown that there exists a sequence of special kind of Lyapunov functions $V_n$ in a rational functional ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Construction of a family of non-stationary biorthogonal wavelets

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
The family of exponential pseudo-splines is the non-stationary counterpart of the pseudo-splines and includes the exponential B-spline functions as special members.
