Exponential stability and partial averaging
AbstractThe exponential stability of singularly perturbed time-varying systems is investigated. It turns out that, under natural conditions, exponential stability of an averaged system is equivalent to exponential stability of the perturbed system for small perturbation parameters.

New Conditions for the Exponential Stability of Nonlinear Differential Equations
We develop a method for proving local exponential stability of nonlinear nonautonomous differential equations as well as pseudo-linear differential systems.

Nonuniform exponential stability for evolution families on the real line
The purpose of the present paper is to investigate the problem of nonuniform exponential stability of evolution families on the real line using the input-output technique known in the literature as the Perron method for the study of exponential stability.

This paper considers exponential stability for a class of timescale-type differential-difference equation with bounded time-varying delay. Based on time scale theory, internally positive representation technique, as well as the existing exponential ...

Adaptive stabilization with exponential decay [PDF]
Abstract Adaptive high gain stabilizers for classes of linear time-invariant state space systems are presented. The classes cover multi-input—multi-output systems where the state dimension is not known. Only standard assumptions such as minimum phase and known respectively unknown sign are required.

Frequency criteria for exponential stability
Abstract We discuss some frequency-domain criteria for the exponential stability of nonlinear feedback systems based on Popov’s hyperstability theorem. The main results are new bounds on convergence rates for perturbations of the damped harmonic oscillator, including the Hessian-damped case, when the perturbations satisfy certain ...

On Exponential Stability of Composite Stochastic Control Systems
New results for exponential stability in probability of a composite stochastic control system are established. The main results of this paper enable us to derive sufficient conditions for exponential stability in -th mean and almost sure exponential ...

The unpredictably eruptive dynamics of spruce budworm populations in eastern Canada
We examine historical population data for spruce budworm from several locations through the period 1930–1997, and use density‐dependent recruitment curves to test whether the pattern of population growth over time is more consistent with Royama's (1984; Ecological Monographs 54:429–462) linear R(t) model of harmonic oscillation at Green River New ...
