Iron‐dependent lysosomal LDL oxidation induces the expression of scavenger receptor A in human THP‐1 monocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

The spaces of exponential type vectors of complex degrees of positive operators

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2010
New classes of interpolation spaces of exponential type vectors of complex degrees of positive operators are defined. Properties of the approximation spaces generated by the considered interpolation spaces are investigated.

Development of 4T1 breast cancer mouse model system for preclinical carbonic anhydrase IX studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a well‐recognised therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in cancer. We developed and characterised a robust murine breast cancer model system that is suitable for CAIX studies in vitro and in vivo—it comprises both CAIX‐positive and CAIX‐negative controls and provides a solid platform for the comprehensive ...

On the topologies of the exponential [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Factorization algebras have been defined using three different topologies on the Ran space. We study these three different topologies on the exponential, which is the union of the Ran space and the empty configuration, and show that an exponential property is satisfied in each case. As a consequence we describe the weak homotopy type of the exponential

Accounting for TLD response to CBCT protocols in external beam radiotherapy dose monitoring

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose LiF thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) are commonly used in radiation therapy to verify the delivered dose. Examples include dose verification for complicated treatment setups or cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). TLDs may be present for both the pre‐treatment imaging kilovoltage (kV) beam and the megavoltage (MV ...

Restricted analytic valued fields with partial exponentiation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Non-archimedean fields with restricted analytic functions may not support a full exponential function, but they always have partial exponentials defined in convex subrings. On face of this, we study the first order theory of the class of non-archimedean ordered valued fields augmented by all restricted analytic functions and an exponential function ...

Ulam’s Type Stability of Involutional-Exponential Functional Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Let S be a commutative semigroup, f,g:S→C and σ:S→S an involution. In this paper we consider the stability of involution-exponential functional equations fx+σy-gxfy≤ϕxresp.,  ϕy, |f(x+σy)-f(x)g(y)|≤ϕ(x) [resp.,  ϕ(y)] for all x,y∈S, where ϕ:S→R ...

Generalized Nonsmooth Exponential-Type Vector Variational-Like Inequalities and Nonsmooth Vector Optimization Problems in Asplund Spaces

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
The aim of this article is to study new types of generalized nonsmooth exponential type vector variational-like inequality problems involving Mordukhovich limiting subdifferential operator.

The burden of burnout: Understanding its prevalence and organizational drivers in medical physics

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Burnout is a work‐related syndrome characterized by increased levels of emotional exhaustion (EE) and depersonalization (DP) along with decreased levels of personal achievement. In the healthcare setting, higher burnout levels have been associated with negative impacts on personnel, an increased risk of errors, and a decrease in the
