Extreme Kinetic Stability and RNase Resistance of Human Telomerase RNA G‐Quadruplexes Overcome by DHX36 Helicase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The RNA G‐quadruplexes formed at the 5'‐end of the RNA component of human telomerase possess extreme slow unfolding rate, rendering them resistant to nuclease degradation. The helicase DHX36 overcame this kinetic barrier and significantly reduced the folded fraction.

Optimal Camera Pose and Placement Configuration for Maximum Field-of-View Video Stitching

open access: yesSensors, 2018
An optimal camera placement problem is investigated. The objective is to maximize the area of the field of view (FoV) of a stitched video obtained by stitching video streams from an array of cameras.

Generic Nekhoroshev theory without small divisors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this article, we present a new approach of Nekhoroshev theory for a generic unperturbed Hamiltonian which completely avoids small divisors problems. The proof is an extension of a method introduced by P.

Data‐Driven Design and Fabrication of Heat‐Resistant, Ultrastrong, Lightweight Aluminum‐Based Entropy Alloy by Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A data‐driven strategy integrating quantum machine learning (QML) and high‐throughput computing overcomes hot‐cracking limitation to design a novel lightweight aluminum‐based entropy alloy for additive manufacturing. The fabrication transforms brittle intermetallics into deformable hierarchical nanostructures, yielding ultrastrong strength (>1 GPa) and

Exponential stability and -gain performance analysis for continuous-time delayed switched positive singular systems

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2016
The problem of exponential stability and L 1 -gain performance is solved for continuous-time delayed switched positive singular systems. First, a necessary and sufficient condition of positivity is established for the system via the singular value ...

Machine Learning for Designing Perovskites and Perovskite‐Inspired Solar Materials: Emerging Opportunities and Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review offers a comprehensive comparison between perovskites and perovskite‐inspired materials (PIMs), focusing on their crystal structures, electronic properties, and chemical compositions. It evaluates the applicability of machine learning (ML) descriptors and models across both material classes.

SVM2Motif--Reconstructing Overlapping DNA Sequence Motifs by Mimicking an SVM Predictor.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Identifying discriminative motifs underlying the functionality and evolution of organisms is a major challenge in computational biology. Machine learning approaches such as support vector machines (SVMs) achieve state-of-the-art performances in genomic ...

Trust‐region filter algorithms utilizing Hessian information for gray‐box optimization

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Optimizing industrial processes often involves gray‐box models that couple algebraic glass‐box equations with black‐box components lacking analytic derivatives. Such systems challenge derivative‐based solvers. The classical trust‐region filter (TRF) algorithm provides a robust framework but requires extensive parameter tuning and numerous ...

Exponential convex functions with respect to \(s\)

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis
Summary: In this paper, we study the concept of exponential convex functions with respect to \(s\) and prove Hermite-Hadamard type inequalities for the newly introduced this class of functions. In addition, we get some refinements of the Hermite-Hadamard (H-H) inequality for functions whose first derivative in absolute value, raised to a certain power ...

Spheres, tears, and spears: Regulating the perimeter and circularity of millimeter‐sized alginate hydrogel beads

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Generating hydrogel beads pertains to many engineering applications. We examined two alginate‐based fluids at three concentrations of alginate, cAG$$ {c}_{\mathrm{AG}} $$. We used the “Map of Misery” to determine which material property (viscosity, elasticity, and inertia) drives droplet formation.
