Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Biological Production of Distinct Carbon Pools Drives Particle Export Efficiency in the Southern Ocean

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
We use observations from the Southern Ocean (SO) biogeochemical profiling float array to quantify the meridional pattern of particle export efficiency (PEeff) during the austral productive season.

Economic impacts of EU deforestation-free regulation on palm oil trade

open access: yesAgricultural and Resource Economics
Purpose. This study aims to assess the competitiveness and export efficiency of palm oil from Like-Minded Countries (LMC) to the European Union (EU) during 2013–2022, with a specific focus on the potential implications of the EU Deforestation-free ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

ANALYSIS OF THE EFFICIENCY OF EXPORT ACTIVITY OF THE COMPANY

open access: yesIntellect XXІ, 2021
The concepts of “summary”, “result”, “effect”, “effectiveness and efficiency” are de-grouped. In general, «effectiveness» is a relative indicator characterizing the degree of achievement by the economic entity of the goal in one or more areas and all its economic activity at a certain point in time, that is, it is a cumulative result of the activities ...

Splicing is required for rapid and efficient mRNA export in metazoans [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1999
Pre-mRNA splicing is among the last known nuclear events before export of mature mRNA to the cytoplasm. At present, it is not known whether splicing and mRNA export are biochemically coupled processes. In this study, we have injected pre-mRNAs containing a single intron or the same mRNAs lacking an intron (Δi-mRNAs) intoXenopusoocyte nuclei.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
