Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

The contradictory character of matter is the starting point of Friedrich Engels’s dialectical principles. Matter can move itself, thus producing ever new possibilities of development and gradually leading to the formation of qualitatively higher forms ...

Relative Expressiveness of Defeasible Logics [PDF]
We address the relative expressiveness of defeasible logics in the framework DL. Relative expressiveness is formulated as the ability to simulate the reasoning of one logic within another logic. We show that such simulations must be modular, in the sense that they also work if applied only to part of a theory, in order to achieve a useful notion of ...

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

Accurate and Efficient Mapping of the Cross-Linked microRNA-mRNA Duplex Reads
Summary: MicroRNA (miRNA) trans-regulates the stability of many mRNAs and controls their expression levels. Reconstruction of the miRNA-mRNA interactome is key to the understanding of the miRNA regulatory network and related biological processes. However,

This paper introduces a new machine architecture for evaluating lambda expressions using the normal-order reduction, which guarantees that every lambda expression will be evaluated if the expression has its normal form and the system has enough memory. The architecture considered here operates using heap memory only.

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

On the Expressive Power of Kleene Algebra with Domain [PDF]
It is shown that antidomain semirings are more expressive than test semirings and that Kleene algebras with domain are more expressive than Kleene algebras with tests. It is also shown that Kleene algebras with domain are expressive for propositional Hoare logic whereas Kleene algebras with tests are not.

Solving the boolean satisfiability problem using multilevel techniques [PDF]
There are many complex problems in computer science that occur in knowledge-representation (artificial thinking), artificial learning, Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) design, security protocols and other areas.
