eXPRESSION: An in silico tool to predict patterns of gene expression

Gene Expression Patterns, 2005
In embryological studies, expression pattern analyses are of special importance since genes that have temporally and spatially restricted expression are not only essential as lineage markers but are often causative in formation of specific fates. Further, where a molecule is expressed can be quite revealing in regard to its endogenous function.

Differences in the Patterning of Affective Expression in Infants

Journal of the American Academy of Child Psychiatry, 1981
Abstract In this report the authors describe a recently developed methodology for assessing emotional expression in infants that they believe has promise for the study of individual differences in the capacity to adaptively “regulate” affective states.

Patterns and Expression of Torpor

2021
Torpor is used by many birds and mammals. However, despite the number and diversity of species, it seems only two major patterns have been favoured by natural selection. In most heterothermic endotherms torpor is characterized by either a daily occurrence (‘daily torpor’ in the ‘daily heterotherms’), which often use torpor throughout the year, or ...

Expression Patterns of Loricrin in Dermatological Disorders

The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 1993
Loricrin is a glycine-, serine-, and cysteine-rich protein expressed very late in epidermal differentiation in the granular layers of normal human epidermis. Subsequently, loricrin becomes cross-linked by the activity of transglutaminases TGK/E as a major component of the cornified cell envelope by N epsilon-(gamma-glutamyl)lysine isopeptide bonds.

Gene expression patterns

1999
Abstract The first step after identifying a C. elegans gene of interest, either through a molecular approach or through sequence homology, is often to determine the gene ‘s expression pattern. Expression pattern information is relatively easy to obtain and in combination with the sequence data can provide a valuable guide to subsequent ...

Patterns of nestin expression in human skin

Cell Biology International, 2006
AbstractNestin, a member of the sixth class of intermediate filament proteins, has long been known not only as a specific marker for central nervous system stem cells, but also as an indicator of the degree of neural stem cell differentiation. Immunohistochemical analysis showed nestin expression in the epidermis and the upper two‐third of the hair ...

Expression Language Patterns

2012
The expression language in SSIS might appropriately be referred to as the glue that holds the product together. Expressions in SSIS provide a relatively simple and easy-to-use interface to allow data developers to introduce dynamic logic into the ETL infrastructure.

Africanized Patterns of Expression

Pedagogy, 2012
In response to the need for additional teacher-research on African American students, this article offers a case study of how one African American student-writer successfully produces expository writing in an Afrocentric first-year writing course at Michigan State University, a large land-grant midwestern research institution.
