Track before detect DOA tracking of extended targets with Marked Poisson Point Processes

open access: yes, 2015
International audienceIn this paper we propose a novel Track Before Detect (TBD) filter aimed at tracking multiple extended targets from phased-array observations.

Multi-Contact Stiffness and Friction Augmentation Using Contact Centroid-Based Normal-Tangential Force Decomposing

open access: yes, 2021
This paper presents an effective approach to extract and selectively augment normal and tangential force components when interacting with a real object. The approach first approximates the behavior of a contact area with a single representative point, i ...

Metasurface‐Enabled Active‐Like Passive Radar

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A programmable space‐time‐coding metasurface embeds distinct spatiotemporal tags into ambient wireless signals, allowing passive radar to operate in an active‐like manner. By enabling code‐correlated reconstruction under interference, the approach supports robust real‐time UAV tracking in complex environments and points to intelligent, low‐power ...

Lactoferrin Deficiency During Lactation Causes Adult Obesity‐Related Metabolic Disease Through Persistent Adipose Dysfunction Driven by Impaired Adipocyte Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactational lactoferrin deficiency exerts lasting effects on epididymal adipose tissue development from lactation into adulthood: it impairs adipocyte hyperplasia and induces pathological hypertrophy, resulting in lower body weight yet exacerbated metabolic dysfunction under a high‐fat diet in adulthood.

Targeting PLD3 Reverses the Immunosuppressive Niche by Reprogramming Tumor‐Associated Macrophages and Potentiates Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PLD3 activates the lysosomal‐AKT‐NF‐κB axis to drive cellular senescence in macrophages, establishing an immunosuppressive TME by limiting the infiltration of cytotoxic T, NK, and NKT cells, which confers resistance to anti‐PD‐1 therapy. Abrine inhibits PLD3 expression, restoring antitumor immunity and synergizing with anti‐PD‐1 treatment.

Musical timbre: bridging perception with semantics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Musical timbre is a complex and multidimensional entity which provides information regarding the properties of a sound source (size, material, etc.). When it comes to music, however, timbre does not merely carry environmental information, but it also ...

Lie Derivations in Prime Rings With Involution

open access: yes, 1999
Let R be a non-GPI prime ring with involution and characteristic ≠ 2, 3. Let K denote the skew elements of R, and C denote the extended centroid of R. Let δ be a Lie derivation of K into itself.

Ligand‐Defined Interfacial Chemistry Enables Instant and Sequence‐General DNA Chemisorption on Gold Nanoparticles Toward Label‐Free SERS With Single‐Base Resolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ascorbic Acid‐Engineered Interface Enables Universal DNA Functionalization on Gold Nanoparticles: Attenuating electrostatic repulsion and leveraging synergistic hydrogen‐bonding interactions significantly lowers the kinetic barrier for DNA adsorption, enabling rapid and sequence‐general functionalization of non‐thiolated DNA‐requiring only a single ...

Aromaticity‐Engineered Open‐Shell Radical Anions for Air‐Stable Doublet Emission in N‐Annulated Perylene Diimide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Open‐shell type radical anions with stable doublet emission have been synthesized that feature aromaticity engineering, through‐space charge‐transfer (TSCT), and electro(fluoro)chromism. ABSTRACT We report the doublet emissive open‐shell radical anions, where the N‐annulated perylene diimide (PDIN–H) is functionalized with aromatic rings.
