KRAS Withdrawal in Cholangiocarcinoma Leads to Immune Infiltration and Tumor Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) driven by oncogenic KRAS depends on its continuous activation for tumor maintenance. Using a conditional KRAS model, the authors show that turning off KRAS triggers rapid tumor regression accompanied by immune cell infiltration and cytokine release. The findings uncover a KRAS–senescence–immune signaling axis and highlight KRAS

HYPERgeometric functions DIfferential REduction: MATHEMATICA based packages for differential reduction of generalized hypergeometric functions: Horn hypergeometric functions of two variables

open access: yes, 2014
HYPERDIRE is a project devoted to the creation of a set of Mathematica-based programs for the differential reduction of hypergeometric functions. The current version allows for manipulations involving the full set of Horn-type hypergeometric functions of

Third-order strong differential subordinations involving fractional integral of confluent (Kummer) and Gaussian hypergeometric functions

open access: yesGeneral mathematics
For the study presented in this paper, the concepts specific to strong differential subordination theory, introduced for the second-order differential subordination case, are extended for the third-order differential subordination case.

Smoking‐Induced STC2+ Tumor Cells Drive Tumor‐Vascular Crosstalk in Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma via Spatial and Single‐Cell Transcriptomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a smoking‐induced mechanism in LSCC whereby nicotine activates the CHRNA5–JAK2/STAT3 axis to drive STC2 transcription. STC2 upregulates TGFBI, which interacts with endothelial ITGA5 to regulate vascular permeability and promote metastasis.

Unified treatment of the Coulomb and harmonic oscillator potentials in $D$ dimensions

open access: yes, 1998
Quantum mechanical models and practical calculations often rely on some exactly solvable models like the Coulomb and the harmonic oscillator potentials.

A Trypsin‐Like Serine Protease ZmNAL1a Fine‐Tunes Maize Floral Transition and Flowering Time

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a trypsin‐like serine protease, ZmNAL1a, that moves from leaves to the shoot apical meristem. ZmNAL1a promotes the floral transition by degrading TOPLESS‐like corepressor REL2, which thereby enhances the expression of key flowering genes through elevating histone acetylation and relieving REL2–ZmEREBP147‐mediated transcriptional ...

Solutions to position-dependent mass quantum mechanics for a new class of hyperbolic potentials

open access: yes, 2013
We analytically solve the position-dependent mass (PDM) 1D Schr\"odinger equation for a new class of hyperbolic potentials $V_q^p(x) = -V_0\frac{\sinh^px}{\cosh^qx}, \, p= -2, 0, \dots q$ [see C. A. Downing, J. Math. Phys.

From Natural Discovery to AI‐Guided Design: A Curated Collection of Compact Enhancers for Crop Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Precise transgene‐free gene upregulation remains a challenge in crop biotechnology, as conventional enhancers often exceed CRISPR‐mediated knock‐in size constraints and face regulatory hurdles. Here we establish a foundational cross‐species resource of compact transcriptional enhancers developed via STEM‐seq, a high‐throughput screening ...

Macrophage–Derived Ferritin Exacerbates Silica‐Induced Pulmonary Fibrosis via PIK3R2‐Mediated Fibroblast Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ferritin as a pivotal mediator of silica‐induced pulmonary fibrosis. Macrophage‐derived ferritin drives fibroblast‐to‐myofibroblast differentiation via the PIK3R2/SMAD pathway, while ferritin knockdown alleviates fibrosis. These findings define ferritin as both a biomarker and pathogenic driver, highlighting ferritin‐PIK3R2 ...

Single polymer dynamics in elongational flow and the confluent Heun equation

open access: yes, 2006
We investigate the non-equilibrium dynamics of an isolated polymer in a stationary elongational flow. We compute the relaxation time to the steady-state configuration as a function of the Weissenberg number.
