Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Crack models based on the extended finite element method [PDF]
International audienceIn spite of its decades of existence, the finite element method coupled with meshing tools does not yet manage to simulate efficiently the propagation of 3D cracks for geometries relevant to engineers in industry.

This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

A Numerical Method for Extended Boussinesq Shallow-Water Wave Equations [PDF]
The accurate numerical simulation of wave disturbance within harbours requires consideration of both nonlinear and dispersive wave processes in order to capture such physical effects as wave refraction and diffraction, and nonlinear wave interactions ...
