Multifunctional Bioactive Scaffold Facilitating BMSCs‐Driven Osteogenesis and Vascularization in Critical‐Sized Bone Defect Repair

A dual‐network bFGF@CB‐gel integrates: i) ChSMA scaffold (mechanical support/BMSCs delivery); ii) BC carrier (sustained bFGF release via EGFL/Itga2b and COMP/PI3K/AKT for adhesion/osteogenesis); iii) bFGF/PI3K/AKT/eNOS for angiogenesis. This rational, synergistic design addresses CSD bone regeneration challenges.

Piezo1 Channel Mediates Mechanically Programmable Drug Delivery to Potentiate Intravesical Chemotherapy

This study utilizes programmable mechanical pressure as a therapeutic enhancer to establish a mechano‐chemotherapy strategy. Controlled pressure activates the mechanosensitive ion channel Piezo1 in bladder cancer, triggering a calcium ion cascade that transiently and reversibly amplifies membrane permeability to chemotherapeutics.

Cells Dynamically Adapt Their Nuclear Volumes and Proliferation Rates During Single to Multicellular Transitions

It is currently not well understood how cells regulate basic properties, e.g., volume and mechanics within dense multicellular environments like tumors. Here, we show that different cell types of cancer and also normal cells largely decrease their nuclear and cellular volumes in emerging cell clusters and that this is partly driven by cell cycle shifts.
