ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with ovarian cancer often present with massive ascites, leading to significant protein loss during surgical procedures. Although cell‐free concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART) is used in palliative settings to mitigate protein loss, its application in intraoperative settings remains unexplored.

Attitude control of flexible space structures using extended state observer
In this paper, we construct a nonlinear Extended State Observer (ESO) to estimate the dynamics of linear or nonlinear systems with parameter uncertainties and unknown external disturbances.

Comparison of linear and nonlinear active disturbance rejection control method for hypersonic vehicle [PDF]
Near space hypersonic vehicles have features of strong coupling, nonlinearity and acute changes in aerodynamic parameters, which are challenging for the controller design. Active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) method does not depend on the accurate

Event-based State Estimation: An Emulation-based Approach
An event-based state estimation approach for reducing communication in a networked control system is proposed. Multiple distributed sensor agents observe a dynamic process and sporadically transmit their measurements to estimator agents over a shared bus

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Infinite horizon control and minimax observer design for linear DAEs
In this paper we construct an infinite horizon minimax state observer for a linear stationary differential-algebraic equation (DAE) with uncertain but bounded input and noisy output. We do not assume regularity or existence of a (unique) solution for any

Organoids in pediatric cancer research
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
