The SME filter for multiple extended targets tracking

2017 20th International Conference on Information Fusion (Fusion), 2017
This paper presents an approach named symmetric measurement equation (SME) to track known number of multiple extended targets. The SME approach removes the target-measurement association uncertainty through converting the original observation into pseudo-measurement vector.

Multipath factor of extended targets

2004
Previous chapters considered point targets so physically small that only single pairs of direct and indirect rays exist, giving definite multipath structures within the interference region. Point targets also usually have well-defined and broad (often omnidirectional) spatial target pattern maps (TPM) or radiation patterns, so their RCS does not vary ...

Precision Target Tracking For Small Extended Objects

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
We present a methodology for the tracking of the centroid of small extended objects using measurements from a forward looking infrared imaging sensor. The statistical characterization of the centroid of a frame as a noisy linear measurement of the centroid of the target is obtained. The off set measurement noise is shown to be autocorrelated.

On Independent Axes Estimation for Extended Target Tracking

2019 Sensor Data Fusion: Trends, Solutions, Applications (SDF), 2019
The trend towards high resolution sensos in combination with a growing number of automotive applications where precise estimates of dense near-range objects are required, results in an enormous need for high performance algorithms for tracking extended targets. Conventionally, this is soved by an ellipse shape approximation of the object extent.

Detection of Extended Target in Compound-Gaussian Clutter

2015
In this chapter, experimental data from a Ka-band high-resolution radar system are used to evaluate the performance of several schemes for coherent detection of distributed targets. The importance of this analysis relies on the possibility of exploiting detectors for range-spread targets in modern applications for homeland security.
