Constructing extensible XQuery mappings

Special interest tracks and posters of the 14th international conference on World Wide Web - WWW '05, 2005
Constructing and maintaining semantic mappings are necessary but troublesome in data sharing systems. While most current work focuses on seeking automated techniques to solve this problem, this paper proposes a combination model for constructing exten-sible mappings between XML schemas.

Extension Operators for Biholomorphic Mappings

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 2019
AbstractSuppose that $D\subset \mathbb{C}$ is a simply connected subdomain containing the origin and $f(z_{1})$ is a normalized convex (resp., starlike) function on $D$. Let $$\begin{eqnarray}\unicode[STIX]{x1D6FA}_{N}(D)=\bigg\{(z_{1},w_{1},\ldots ,w_{k})\in \mathbb{C}\times \mathbb{C}^{n_{1}}\times \cdots \times \mathbb{C}^{n_{k}}:\Vert w_{1}\Vert _ ...

Extension of Maps to Nilpotent Spaces

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 2001
AbstractWe show that every compactum has cohomological dimension 1 with respect to a finitely generated nilpotent group G whenever it has cohomological dimension 1 with respect to the abelianization of G. This is applied to the extension theory to obtain a cohomological dimension theory condition for a finite-dimensional compactum X for extendability ...

Extensions of Mappings

1977
In this chapter we wish to study various extension theorems. An example of an extension theorem has already been met with, viz., Tietze’s extension theorem (Theorem 8, §19). We wish here to extend this theorem to a general situation and also to consider the extension of some particular maps, for instance, linear ones on linear topological spaces.

Fibrewise extensions, shanin compactification and extensions of fibrewise maps

Acta Mathematica Hungarica, 2009
In a previous paper, the authors studied fibrewise covering uniformities and completions (corresponding to fibrewise uniform structures defined by James). In this paper, in order to extend the theory of generalized uniformities (g-uniformities) to fibrewise g-uniformities, the authors introduce an alternative definition of fibrewise uniformity which is

Suggestion for a “mapped”, extension of APL

Proceedings of the fourth international conference on APL - APL '72, 1972
Users of APL are under the “spell” of beauty, conciseness and elegance of the language. They have however to go back to Fortran, for instance, whenever they cannot avoid a loop executed a great number of times in order to limit the CPU time used. The natural desire for enlarging the class[1] of cases in which “it would pay” to use APL, is the origin of ...

GRAPHIC EXTENSIONS OF MAPPINGS

Quaestiones Mathematicae, 1977
ABSTRACT Given a mapping f: X → Y and an extension e: X → [Xtilde] of X, the restriction of the projection Π: [Xtilde] X Y → Y to the closure of the graph of f in [Xtilde] X Y is called the graphic extension of f with respect to e. It is shown that this approach is widely applicable to various types of topological extensions of mappings found in the ...

A Note on Open Extension of Maps

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1972
In recent years there has been some interest in trying to improve the behaviour of maps by extending their domains (see Whyburn [10], Baur [3], Krolevec [8], Dickman [5], Franklin and Kohli [6]). It was shown in [6] that every map can be extended to an open map so that certain properties of the domain and range are preserved in the new domain.
